Weddings With Joy - Open By Appointment — Attraction in Olympia

TOTAL NIGHTMARE-WASTE OF TIME-WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! After meeting an employee at a recent wedding expo, I was told bridal appointments are recommended, but walk ins also welcome. I also got the impression from that employee that she thought I was stupid for looking at dresses, when I don't have a venue selected yet. My mother and I work opposite shifts (she is overnights, and I am days) and we live two hours apart. It just happened that we were in Olympia on the same afternoon for appointments, and decided we should use that mother-daughter time to do something fun and wedding related. We stopped at Weddings With Joy around 4:15. and there was only one employee, who was the same woman I met at that expo. Well it turns out she is actually the owner. She greeted us when she was off phone, by asking if we had an appointment and looking at her watch while greeting us. She cut me off as I was explaining this is special for my mom and I to have even an hour together, and said there would be no time for me to try anything on because she has an appointment at 5pm. We said oh okay no problem, and she told us we could browse around, and went back to texting or whatever on her cell phone at the front desk. I thought that was strange since there was 45 minutes before the appointment and no other employees to help for the remaining hour and fifteen minutes the store is open. We asked how the sizing of dresses work, and she rudely told us again that she didn't have time to take my measurements today and went back to her phone. I simply was wanting to know if the sizing is comparable to pants/shirt size etc. A very basic question. At one point my mom even asked what type of style is trending this year for dresses and the woman kind of rolled her eyes and said that no two brides are the same and there really aren't "trends" in wedding fashion! We browsed around the maybe 200 INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED gowns on the floor, with hardly any differing selection, and then went to leave. She then asked if I wanted to schedule and appointment, and asked when my wedding is. I told her it is in 2020 and we have not yet decided a venue. And just like this conversation was a repeat from the expo she made it sound like I am an idiot for even looking at dresses with the wedding so far out, and no venue selected. When I asked for her name, she simply introduced herself as the owner. Well, Courtney is her name, and I cannot believe the owner of such a small and overpriced shop is that happy to treat potential bridal gown customers so RUDELY and also turn ensure I will never spend a dime at that damn shop.

I actually found my wedding dress two days later, a dress that is carried at Weddings With Joy, but found it for MUCH cheaper. AND was treated not only like a human being, but like a bride that is going to be spending a ton of money there. I hope this review is helpful to any bride to be that is looking for a wedding dress experience somewhere that has caring, "joyful" and attentive staff. Do not let Courtney, or her sour attitude and rudeness affect your special time...

I am so impressed with Weddings With Joy! I met them through the Tacoma Wedding Show and booked with them there. At the show they gave me an envelope to open at the appointment and when we opened it, it said $250 off! We were really excited about that gift! I also really loved how they made me feel special even before the appointment. They texted me beforehand and called me the day before my appointment! When on the phone, they asked me about myself, my wedding, and my fiancé. They made me feel important, like they wanted to know who I was. They made it seem personal and that I was more than just someone buying a dress from them.

When you book with them I highly recommend booking with Kristin!! However, they all seem so amazing and I feel you would have a great experience with any of them! But I want to rave about how amazing Kristin was!!! She really made my experience so perfect. When I was called the day before the appointment, they said I can text them my inspo photos and I did! And Kristin used those and picked out some beautiful dresses! What makes me want to sing Kristin’s praises is that she not only used those photos she also used her professional expertise and chose a dress I never would have thought to try on. She really knows what she is doing! This dress caught my eye the moment I stepped in the room. She helped me get into that dress first and was extremely professional and made me feel at ease. And the moment I got into the dress, I knew it was the one. Kristin somehow used my inspo photos and her years of dress experience and got the perfect dress for me. It literally made me feel so beautiful and fit nearly perfect!!! She not only found the dress, but she let me try on the others as I wanted to give my Future MIL a more complete dress experience as this was the first time she has been to any of my dress appointments (I had been to 2 prior to this). She carefully got me into each dress and even though I knew I wanted the first one, she still went along with this so my Future MIL could get the entire package of what a dress appointment is like. That really meant a lot to me. But I am not done! She also took time to find the perfect veil and accessory for the dress. She listened to us and carefully tried different options and helped me find the absolute perfect combination!!! Kristin made this day so special for me and really did an amazing job and I cannot stress how you should book with her if possible! Thank you so...

Words cannot describe the amazing experience I had at Weddings With Joy. If 10 stars was an option I wouldn’t hesitate. I went in with zero expectations; a veteran bridesmaid but a first time bride. I went in early August 22’ just to kind of explore my style to prepare for a wedding in July 23’ and was blown away by my experience with my stylist, Ashley. She immediately made me feel so comfortable and took the time to sit with me and understand the very unique style of my wedding day and who I was as an individual to better understand what would suit not just my body but my personality. I told her I wanted to try on ALL the styles and she listened, but somehow still managed to pick ones that I could find things I liked in even the dresses that I declined. It’s always a little uncomfortable stripping down in a dressing room with a person you just met 30 minutes ago, and I was shocked that there was no shame. Ashley handled it so gracefully and so respectfully all while we still carried on casual conversation and listening to my opinions on dresses. She handled my opinionated family members in the most respectful and discrete way for each “reveal” and made sure I had my space to speak my thoughts to them. We kept going back to a dress that we both knew had stole my heart early in the try on process, but Ashley respectfully knew I needed my grandmother’s approval before purchasing, and she couldn’t make it to that visit. There was 0 pressure to buy on the spot and she was beyond helpful in scheduling another visit where I could have my grandmother in company. The purchase experience itself was so smooth and accommodating and stress free. The entire experience was just beyond…. I talk about Weddings With Joy wherever I go.
