DISCLAIMER: THIS IS ABOUT THE OMAHA LOCATION. It's possible the service at the Lincoln and Des Moines locations is a lot better, but this was my experience with the Schrock at Burke Street! I went to Schrock a few months back because my laptop's screen stopped working after I inserted new ram cards. I stopped by best buy first, and they said after doing some cursory looking it was most likely a monitor issue, and said they didn't really do those and recommended Schrock. I explained the situation ro the receptionist and gave Schrock my laptop with the new RAM inside, the original RAM card, which was metal plated (photo included) with my laptop. I was willing to be patient because it was around the holidays. Nearly a week passed and I finally called them and asked how it was going. They said "oh, we've been working on it, we've just been really busy" but couldn't give me any detail on what they actually were doing. I get a call back only an hour later with the guy over the phone saying they don't have a compatible charger, so I go over to deliver the charger, figuring that would be all I hear from them that day. Only another hour passes until I get another call where they tell me they looked at the laptop, and they can't tell if its a monitor issue or a motherboard issue, and they urge me to decide right then whether or not they replace the monitor or to send it to their Lincoln location where they can check if its a motherboard issue/replace the motherboard. I at this point am very stressed out because they didn't even give me an estimate on how much any of this would cost, and if I send my laptop to Lincoln I have no idea how long it would take for motherboard diagnostics (this laptop is the only computer I have, I don't have a desktop). I ask if its alright if I call back, the guy says yes, and I go consult with family and friends. Ultimately we decide to pick up the laptop and find another repair shop, and my father is kind enough to call Schrock back for me because I was bawling my eyes out. We go to pick up my laptop and everything is in place EXCEPT THE RAM. The RAM stick I am given back along with the computer that's the "original RAM" is a completely different stick with no metal plating and Samsung warranty stickers on it (photo attached). I tried to correct the guy at the counter and told him this wasn't the right ram, but he insisted that this was the ram that came with the computer. I was too emotionally exhausted to argue anymore. Luckily the replacement ram was still in the laptop. I took it to another local repair shop a day later and they were able to actually confirm within a day what the issue was (a monitor issue as suspected by Best Buy), and told me exactly how much it would cost. The only bright side of going to Schrock is that they didn't charge me for whatever they did while they had my laptop, however I am still salty that I'm never getting that original RAM stick back. The only reason I waited this long to post a review is because I wanted to make sure no other problems with my laptop arose that could have been related to either repair shop. If you're in Omaha, literally even the Best Buy techs will do better at figuring out what's wrong with your computer, don't go to Schrock.

I’m pretty computer illiterate and the people at schrock made a stressful to me situation painless by getting our boat anchor laptop work again . I’m a saddle maker by trade which is about as far away from technology as you can get . We tried a couple of other places for repairs that were closer and left more frustrated than I started

I have never written a review before but after dealing with Schrock I knew I had to create an account and share my experience. Please don't waste your time with Schrock Innovations- head East and find Friendly PC you will be thankful you did. I honestly wonder if the people at Schrock have ever seen a computer before and I can't believe they can run a business. They told me to bring my computer right in and they would be able to look at it that same day. I loaded up 3 kids and left right then. The gal at the front said they would call me later that day. Right before 5 that day I called them and they hadn't looked at it yet....they would call in the morning. The next day I finally called them at noon and talked to the least professional guy I have ever talked to. He had no idea what was wrong with my computer, he hadn't received any of the information I had given the front desk gal and guessed at a couple different fixes. He thought for $700 he could fix 2 parts that might make it work again but might not...REALLY FOR $700??? I told him to forget it and I would come pick up the computer. He seemed so surprised by this that he offered several other guesses- no thank you! My mom was close to Schrock so she picked up my computer for me. She mentioned the conversation I had had with their employee and how unimpressed I was with him and he pretty much said I was a liar. She then talked to the manager who implied that I lied about bringing it right in because he said they had 30 other people in front of me so the front desk gal never would have told me that they could have looked at my computer that day....what a mess! Don't waste...

I brought my computer to them. The idea was to see what hardware could be salvaged to create essentially a brand new computer. They took my computer into their back room and REFUSED to let me see what they were doing to it (should have questioned them and required that I be in the room). 10 minutes later the worker came back out and told me that several items could be used and gave me a quote on building a new system. When I got my computer back home, the computer would not boot and it sent me to the Windows Startup Repair. After quite some time, the computer finally was able to boot and I noticed there was a CD in my Optical Drive. It was labelled Hiren's Boot CD. My girlfriend and I went back to Shrock's that evening and we asked why there was a CD in my computer and what they did to it. We got a dumb-founded look and were told they hadn't done anything. When I spelled out what the CD was and how my computer had to repair itself, they tried to tell me that Windows Startup Repair didn't work and that I could "graciously" keep the CD. They told me they had used the software on the CD to test my hardware because "you can't tell how good something is without using the Hiren software". I couldn't find anything that had been placed on the computer, but it continued to act funny. I restored my computer to a previous time and now it works fine. They didn't tell me what they were going to do to my computer, I had to drag it out of them what they did, and the reviews for Hiren's are shady.

The place does not look or act like a professional business. I recommend...
