Meddy’s at Village Pointe – A Mediterranean Win
Meddy’s has officially opened in a prime Village Pointe location, replacing a former jewelry store—and what a welcome addition it is. I’ll admit, when I first heard about the concept, I was a bit skeptical. A fast-casual, Mediterranean-style spot? Would it sacrifice quality for convenience? Would it feel too industrial or impersonal?
All doubts were put to rest the moment I walked in.
I stopped in with friends before a movie at the Village Pointe theatre, and immediately, the atmosphere stood out: bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed. There’s a great mix of tables, booths, and a spacious patio area that I can already tell will be the go-to spot on sunny days or during Village Pointe concerts. There's even a faux tree in the center of the space—a fun design choice that gave the place an elevated feel.
My friend was already seated, enjoying the complimentary unleavened bread, and wow—that bread was fire. Chewy, warm, and perfect when dipped into the seasoned oil. Such a great start to the meal.
I ordered at the counter (they have both digital screens and printed menus, which is helpful), and went with the Meddy’s Main Plate with lamb, roasted vegetables, and garlicky potatoes. Highly recommend this combo. The lamb was shockingly tender—hands down the best I’ve had at a Mediterranean restaurant in the area. It came served over one of their signature dips, and the flavor combo was unreal. The roasted veggies were nicely done—al dente and flavorful. But the star? The garlicky potatoes. Crispy little cubes loaded with garlic, and even better when mixed with the lamb and sauce. Every bite was a flavor parade.
Our table shared a few other items: hummus, fries, mushroom soup, chicken shawarma, and the rice ball. The fries were tasty but a bit soggy, and the shawarma was just okay—maybe a bit underwhelming compared to the Main Plate. But the mushroom soup? Phenomenal. I’ll be back just to get a bowl for myself. The chicken protein was also really solid—definitely something I want to try next time instead of lamb (just to mix it up).
As for the service—exceptional. The counter staff were kind, welcoming, and helpful. Once seated, the table service felt more like a full-service restaurant. Drinks were never half-empty, plates were cleared quickly, and multiple staff members checked in to see how everything was. It was a well-oiled machine.
Even during peak hours, the place was buzzing—around 95% full. You love to see that kind of energy at a new restaurant.
All in all, this place is a huge win. I’m thrilled it’s in my neighborhood and already know it’ll be a regular go-to. I’d run—not...
Read moreThis is an absolute must try if you enjoy Mediterranean food. This location does not specifically one region of food, but a variety of flavors and plates. As a vegetarian, this is an absolute heaven for options. The environment is lively, a bit cramped, but the plethora of tables allows you to always have options for seating.
I ordered the falafel plate, which included a choice of salad, the house hummus, pita or chips, and also a bowl of the Spanish eggplant. The falafels themselves are fresh, full of herbs, and with a well blended inside that made them not fall apart but stay together more like falafel nuggets. The outside was crispyyy and delicious!
If you’ve ever made your own hummus, you’ll be able to identify this hummus is made and not store bought! The thinner, yet creamy, texture has a strong tahini and lemon flavor without being overhearing. Paired with the endless amount of pita being brought around.. you could truly just fill up on that alone! The pita is definitely one of the main draws here considering it is fluffy and you can open it up to stuff with hummus or protein. My family absolutely loves it, and the servers walk around supplying tables constantly with new batches! We even requested some to-go with our leftovers and they happily complied.
My brother ordered the chicken and was shocked by the portion sizes! The potatoes on the side were perfectly crispy and seasoned. My cousin and my mom both order the chicken and rice bowl repeatedly, in love with the flavors and portion size! My cousin is picky too, so her repeatedly returning for a dish is a special compliment to say the least.
The service was kind, speedy, and thoughtful! They moved people through the order lines quickly and were mindful to clear the table when necessary to create a clean space to stay and chat. Due to the nature of the establishment, it seems that servers get paid a bit of a higher hourly wage (as advertised on a poster) which made me feel comfortable sitting and chatting without feeling like I was taking up a table that they could be ‘turning’ and making money on. This made me feel very relaxed as a fellow server.
Genuinely a new family favorite, I visited less than a week ago and my family has already been requesting to return with me! Looking forward to ordering the baklava to go platter for my next...
Read moreNice little Mediterranean restaurant. Actually a proper Lebanese restaurant I should say, one that’s been missing from the Omaha food scene.
As an east coast transplant, finding quality middle eastern cuisine that matches what you can find on the East Coast has been incredibly difficult. Meddy’s ended that drought for me, and looks like it’s a localized Lebanese family run chain based out of Kansas, which explains why it has maintained its quality here.
Has a bunch of Lebanese staples, and it is a great fast casual addition to the Omaha food scene.
When you walk in, it is a walk up counter to place your order. Whether it’s an entree or a sandwich, it’s fairly priced. Sides are big enough to share if you’re there with family, if you want to get multiple to share. But also not too big, where you can house it yourself if you’re hungry.
When you sit down, they bring out a complimentary pita, and you can pour your own olive oil and za’atar seasoning to taste for dipping, or you can eat it plain. You can also save it and dip it in extra hummus that you order. The pita is thick, crisp on the outside, and fluffy and soft on the inside. As a middle eastern guy in Nebraska, this brought some warm feelings inside to get fresh baked pitas like this here, especially considering another middle eastern restaurant in Omaha charred tortillas and tried to pass them off as pitas. So come here and try this pita for some redemption for the food scene out here.
The hummus was fresh and delicious, I love Lebanese style hummus, it’s always fresh and has the perfect consistency.
For the entree, I got the chicken shawarma, the seasoning, the moisture in the chicken, and the garlic sauce were perfect. I hadnt realized that they had additional dipping sauces, to include the garlic sauce, roasted red pepper sauce, and sriracha dippers by the front the counter. Next time, I’m getting more garlic sauce to dip the shawarma in. The pickles and tomatoes inside the shawarma bring an authenticity not matched in a lot of places out here, but again, I don’t know of any other Lebanese restaurants in Omaha.
As for the side, the crispy garlic potatoes surprised me in their quality. Can’t wait to try their other sides and see how consistent they are. Can’t wait to take the family back. Around $15 per adult...
