I don’t do much frisbee golfing, but as a newcomer to this particular course compared to a few others I’ve been to wether it be in Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, or here in Nebraska this one is definitely horrible in my book. This course took me 10 minutes or so just to find where it begins and I was lucky to even find it. I do like they have a couple pads to pick from when your throwing to the basket, but here is the horrible part. It’s difficult to figure out which pad is which and where the basket is. I went through 6 baskets and coming to the 7th one I accidentally put it into the 8th basket. I walked over towards the other basket that was maybe 100ft away maybe a bit further or shorter, but either way come to find out that was the 7th basket. The pads are not numbered at all atleast not the 7 I went to. I saw a basket that was missing a number, so who knows what that one is and he 8 baskets that I did see one can hardly read the numbers on them. The other courses I’ve been to the pads have been labeled or if there was no pad there was a sign saying what number your at and wether it’s A, B, or C. Also some other courses have a map at each station or there is a sign staked on a tree and has an arrow pointing; this at the very minimum gives you an idea where to aim atleast. I will say though the grounds are well kept amongst other things, but the frisbee golf course is just horribly laid out and zero directions are given. Well not zero because a map is given at number one station you can pick up, but it’s difficult to interpret at-least my...
Read moreAs a mother and frequent visitor to Seymour Smith Park, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of accessible, sanitary restrooms at this park.
It is absolutely unacceptable that there are three restroom facilities on site — clearly marked and built for public use — yet all of them remain locked and unavailable during regular park hours. Instead, families are expected to use a single, filthy portable toilet. The smell alone is unbearable, and it is in no condition to be used, especially by young children.
Today, my daughter needed to use the restroom shortly after we arrived at the splash pad and playground. We first went to the portable toilet — which was so disgusting and foul-smelling it was out of the question. Then we walked to the permanent restroom buildings, only to find all of them locked. This left us with no choice but to pack up and leave — cutting short what should have been a fun day.
I find it completely unreasonable and disrespectful to the families who use this park to have such poor and inaccessible restroom facilities. If the park is open, restrooms should be open. At a bare minimum, clean, usable facilities must be available — not a single unmaintained portable toilet.
I urge the responsible department to address this immediately. Families and children...
Read moreThe park is nice. This review is mostly for the disc golf. I play disc golf at Seymour on occasion. The course is challenging but very gimmicky on certain holes depending on the pin placement. For example, hole #4 is a par 3. You have to throw off the tee through a row of trees with a narrow opening. Then there are more trees between you and the basket where you can't see the basket. Going left or right will put you near more trees where you can't see the basket or have a clear shot at it. There are several holes that are this way so it's not really fun for beginners. Also, there are a lot of broken branches that hang off the trees which is hazardous IMO. A lot of holes have very low hanging branches that should be trimmed up but they are probably keeping them that way to be a more challenging course. It can be quite busy and you can wait a long time between holes. A lot of time it's due to people constantly hitting trees/branches because there are no real...
