I used to frequent Out of the Box when it was in Lincoln. It is the most amazing place to go walk through and see amazing pieces of architecture and furniture that you won't find anywhere else. The owner's treat everyone wonderfully. Just like each person could afford a $10,000 canopy bed with silver leaf detail that is one of 5 made in the world. They will tell you the back story of the piece and how they procured it. They truly don't care if you buy it or not. They just enjoy sharing the stories and building relationships with their customers.
Walking through their show rooms was my favorite way to pass some time and day dream about how I would decorate my dream home if I had a bunch of money. I got to know the owner's story as well over time. They lost the lease to the building in Lincoln and ended up moving to a warehouse in Ralston. I visited for the first time since they moved, a few weeks ago. As much as I miss them being close it was worth the drive. Their space is so much bigger! Same great atmosphere and conversation as usual. Their commitment to treating everyone like they can afford a $10,000 bed even though the average person will most likely never spend that much on a piece of furniture is why I am going back to them and spending a little more to buy some special pieces when I build my greenhouse in the spring. They took the time to walk through the entire warehouse to show me pieces that they thought would meet my needs and my style and were still in my price range. I truly cannot wait to work with them in the spring to make my vision come to reality and have special pieces from Out of the Box in my greenhouse. They know what it takes to build relationships. The sale isn't always immediate, sometimes it's about building the relationship overtime. That's how you get customers for life.
Go visit their show rooms. Be amazed. Meet the owners and the staff. You will be...
Read moreThis is a very unique one-of-a-kind store in Lincoln. Lots of very unique and one-of-a-kind architectural products. It's in a massive store which used to be an Appliance store. After spending an hour and a half trying to go through this store, we noticed two recurring themes. One, there is no Rhyme or Reason for where things are. Two. There are things scattered out in so many different rooms and so far away from each other yet they had a huge showroom virtually blank which could have been used to display things. Prices weren't that good either. But he's been in business for many years so he must know...

If not for this store you might not even know the item exists in the first place, definitely couldn't afford it new... and here it is in front of you at a reasonable price (research it). It's likely this is the best retail interaction I've ever had with some nice and thoughtful people. And I'm old. If you like honest owners who do what they say and say what they do then this...
