This park is awesome. Lots of room for Frisbee, play catch, or just a casual walk around. Many wonderful events are hosted here, including exercise classes. Great, free summer concerts on Saturday nights during season; which culminated with a fantastic national act....all at no charge, allowing lawn chairs and coolers for the season , with food trucks sometimes, children's face painting etc. Family friendly. Nearby free parking garage...Close to cycling trail, small children's park, ice-cream parlor, shopping at Aksarben Village with many eateries and pubs. Sonny's outdoor bar nearby; plus the Inner-Rail fast food choices and seating indoor and out, with firepits. Sonny's also hosted free salsa classes and dancing...what a fun time! Aksarben Village and Stinson Park; with nearby Farmer's Market on Sundays; best in the city, are a very welcome city gem that showed up to bring music, food, life, and socialization back, on time after lengthy post-covid isolations, mass city construction projects, road work poorly planned and annoying causing generally grumpy post covid attitudes. Good to see people smiling again! Thanks Stinson and...
Read moreThis was our first Stinson Park concert and we really enjoyed ourselves. The band Simplicated was fantastic and played nothing but crowd favorites that had people dancing all night. It was a huge crowd too, with more and more people showing up as the night went on, which was neat. It's like they heard the music and were drawn to it. Stinson Park has an extremely family friendly vibe which makes it a perfectly comfortable place to just hang out on a nice night and enjoy the fresh air. We got there early, got a front row parking spot at the park, then walked to Herbe Sainte for a fantastic dinner and cocktails. After dinner we walked around the village then back to the car, grabbed our chairs and beverages, and set up in the shade for the concert. It was a great date night. I really hope they keep up the Saturday concert series and that they bring back Simplicated every year. They're the perfect band for the venue. We'll be...
Read moreAlways a clean and well maintained park. I take the kids here about once a month. The only complaint I have is over the bathrooms. Why build them, have permanent Porta john stalls, then keep them locked? Our trips here are always limited by time in between potty breaks.
Update 6/22: We were at the park late spring for the summer arts festival. Probably a couple thousand in attendance with the stalls and, artists and patrons. Still, the bathrooms were locked. How are you going to lock them when you have scheduled events like this? I was lucky that sone other kind fellow had ripped the lock of one of the porta johns rendering the door unlockable. How many times have you read someone being thankful the stall door didn't work?
Part of me wants to drop trou behind a bush in protest, but I can only imagine what that would sound like when I would have to argue...
