While I am grateful for WCU to provide the opportunity to be in nursing school, my experience at WCU has been lacking. Beginning with the school choosing the clinical days and the school failing to provide instructor to go with us, forcing us to a 12 hour zoom meeting with a substitute. Accompanied by the school sending out messages at week 2 of the term that states for the students with no clinical instructor to provide an alternate day to become Covid screeners, making this content heavy term even heavier, from 4 days of school to now 5 for myself and many others this term, and then changing our clinical day completely. The school announced to us Friday night to provide availability for a new clinical day, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday for the following week. It is Tuesday and there has been no new information given to any of us, and all of us have school between Monday and Wednesday with a skills day during the week. The school states that nurses must begin practicing flexibility, but the school is who chose Sunday clinical for us, ignoring our preference day completely. The school states the BRN requires certain number of on-site hours and I fear the school will fail to provide such hours. It is week 3 of a 10 week term, with 4 days left to go to a clinical site before...
Read moreThis school requires you to take med math every term when you are in core with very, very minimal teaching on it and they expect you to know it in a week and pass it at 90%. If you do not pass the med math test, you will be forced to drop the class that you barely started and they still take your tuition money of $11000 for that class. This school need to be evaluated since many of the management do not even know what was the passing score on this test or not aware of their policy. This school is a typical money maker which can suck you in dry financially and academically that is why i decided to get out. I just felt so bad seeing all this new students coming in without any knowledge what they are going to so parents beware, the first reviewer was...
Read moreit breaks my heart to pour the truth, as this school is great but lacks on helping students succeed. it is sad that after being dismissed and you appeal to get let back in, if your appeal is approved you have to "audit" courses you received a level one on the proctors. I feel this doesn't define the student you are nor if you will excel in the program it is very unfair. It has come to my attention that many students fail their audit term and are easily let go when this exam doesn't define you. I do believe west coast university needs to...
