This is the best dogpark I have ever been to. It is not the prettiest park because its a DOGPARk, but it meets high standards
There are four major areas.
Large parking lot.
Large flat grassy lot with plenty of sunshine for mostly dogs.3. Large forest with many trails for whether you and your dog want a workout...or you can choose a lazy walk under the trees.
A large mostly small dog park up against the forest.
There're many benches and tables. You can bring your own chair.
There is water for the dogs in the large and small areas. Bring your own drink. Some bring water for their dogs.
There is a clean bathroom
A word of caution to new people.
At the dog park entrance there is a gate to let your dog into a small area where you remove you leash. Many times the regularly attending dogs become deliriously excited to see a new dog or even an old timer. There is, on occasion, furious barking and wagging of tails. It's how they communicate.
Usually the owners of the dogs in the park are watching when this happens and will eventually respond and help you come in. Once you're use to this boohaha most people undo the leash and open the gate and dog fun begins.
Very rarely does a real dog fight start. When it does everyone runs to break it up including the dogs who calm things down.
No one wants this to happen and when it does, the new people generally understand and make the decision to come back or not.
You will find that there are regular dogs and owners who come every day and more. Most who stay get use to the culture and become...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite dog park. People are now bringing babies and toddlers and young children into the dog park. These people allow their children to run at, slap and antagonize other people’s dogs. I called the animal control department and was told that even though it is a dog park, when children come in, people are expected to get their dogs and leave. If any dog bites, knock down or injure La a child the owner of the dog is responsible. Even if the child strikes the dog with an object, the dog and owner are responsible for any injuries resulting from the child attacking the dog. So just be aware, this dog park is NOT for dogs. When children enter the park, dog owners MUST leave the park with their dogs/s. This has happened to us three times in the last couple of months. I won’t be going back because I won’t have my dogs destroyed because other people are bad parents and think it’s fine and funny to allow their children to run up to, scream at and try hitting...
Read moreVery easy to find park at with both a small and a large dog play area and a large dog play area is huge with paths through the woods on the order of a quarter to half mile in length. The dogs and their owners were totally chill and my dog really relaxed! Also, well I did not use the restrooms. They're worth both amends and a woman's room in a building right next to...
