Dear Mr. Jerry, I read my Dad's post and I wanted to give my part of the story. Like my Dad I don't usually make reviews either, but it seems we really ruffled some feathers here, which tells me your fragile ego is tethered to your store's reviews. The day that I came into your store, I was expecting to pick up the posters for my Dad as a Christmas present at the price you had quoted him for: $40 each for 6 posters. Initially you did not know who I was and tried to sell these posters to me for $50.99 each. You offered to give them to me at 10 percent off which was still not the price you offered them to my Dad for. After negotiating with you for a few minutes I went outside to get my mom who was with my Dad during your prior negotiation with him. When you recognized her as being my Dad's wife you raised the price back up to $50 each. Did my dad's refusal to your first offer really send you for a loop, that you had to be spiteful towards my mother? Who is "immature" now Jerry? Jerry, you know no one expects to get things for free but disrespecting your customers by yelling at them as they exited your shop: "WELL THE NEXT TIME YOU COME BACK THEY'LL BE $50" - That is immature and a really mediocre way to negotiate and you should reevaluate the type of career you're in. Being a pawnshop owner requires one key skill, and that is the art of negotiation or in your words haggling. Having a customer leave without buying anything from your store and making the comment that you mark just bellow "Best Buy" or "Amazon" prices, doesn't mean their good deals, numbnuts. I wasn't demanding you to give me your left kidney for the posters, I just wanted the same price you had offered my Dad, $40 each. But hey, that extra $20 really mean't something to you huh Mr. Jerry? You can keep your scratched up, disproportionate sized posters. You are already selling to a niche crowd. By the way, I am uploading some photos of the posters my Dad purchased the day after me and my mom were in the shop. Now we have the choice of what movies we want in the frames without worrying about the dimensions. He got the frames off OfferUp at $12 each and the posters you can find all over ebay for just below $10 each. Also the guy who sold him the glass frames threw in 2 free posters of his own. This was exactly what my dad needed. Merry...
Read moreI don't usually write a reveiw on my experience at pawn shops, but this one deserves my attention. The first time i went there i was shopping for movie posters for a theater room i had built in my home. i think it was the owner i was dealing with. Anyway i laid out the posters i wanted to bargain for. He had them marked at $45.95 each. Liked six of the big ones and 3 of the small ones. He told me that i could have the 6 big ones for $40 each, which i thought was fair, however he wanted $40 each for the 3 small ones which i thought was way over priced. I informed him that i would come back with my son to pick up the 6 big ones, since i didnt have the room in my car to take them, could you believe this jerk told me that if i didnt get them now they would be $50 each when i come back. And get this he has a giant ad out in front of his store 20 percent off. Anyway, found all the posters on line for $10 each and frames for 12 ea online so paid $22 ea. half price. Im letting everyone know that im not upset with the price he was selling them at, thats his option, but i am upset with his attitude toward his customers. Just a word of caution, pawn shops are not always the best option, and in my case not the best...
Read moreHe advertised a Yamaha preamp on Facebook marketplace when I bought it, he assured me it worked perfectly. When I got home, I couldn’t get any video output. Not even for the on screen menu so no way to use the set up functions. I reset it to factory default but still no video.
I brought it back and he said I had to have returned it within 24 hours otherwise he would only give store credit. I told him that I didn’t change my mind, IT DOESN'T WORK!!!
He said he would contact the guy who sold it to them. I waited a few days and spoke to him again. They weren’t able to get the video working either. I said you only gave me 24 hours but you’ve now has it four days and don’t know what’s wrong with it.
Gerry still would only give store credit. Well, if this receiver wasn’t checked, why would I want to buy something else there.
After a week, he told me to come get it. When I brought it to the repair shop, I was told it was going to be over $800. The circuit board has to be replaced.
When I contacted Gerry about the repair, he said he was done with me. No store credit, no refund. Now I have a receiver that I paid $999 for and have pay another...
