We felt like a kid in a candy store. This store takes your way back to your childhood. so many candies from 1960-1970 Mary Jane's, squirrels, original buttons on a paper, candy cigarettes, mallow cups. old fashion Taffy Long strip plus the other saltwater taffy, Pop Rocks. They have black cows and sugar daddies. Did you ever have sponge candy they have that there, too? Milk and Dark chocolate. They have lots of sugar-free candy there too.they have so many bins of so many different kind of nuts. Some are salted, and some are not salted. They even have chocolate-covered pecans it tastes like banana bread it was so delicious I had to buy some for a friend of mine who loves banana bread all kinds of boxes of candies and decorations and candies for baby showers case for weddings all kinds of candies jelly beans anything you could think of it it's amazing in there. I'd like to better when it was closer in Oak Lawn on 103rd. Did they move to Tinley Park such a little bit farther so we don't get up there that often. When we do go, I spend about 34 dollars you get lost in there. You feel like you're back in grammar school. Not a place you want to miss if you break Tinley Park or you're going to be in that area. Make sure you stop it's a little Hidden Gem in a...
Read moreMy experience was horrible. My baby had a meltdown while there, because HES A BABY and was overwhelmed and the old woman who was working there yelled at him multiple times and then the last time in his face aggressively while he was crying. Yes he was loud. Yes it was frustrating but he’s a baby and she’s a stranger and has no right to yell in my child’s face. Then her and the older man working proceeded to make fun about how they needed alcohol because they had yo listen to my son cry. I’m disgusted. I don’t know if they own the place or just are employed there but if I didn’t also have my 7 year old that I didn’t want to upset further I would have yelled at them right there because how dare you yell at someone else’s child so aggressively in their face. Don’t work at a candy store if you can’t handle hearing a child (mind you it was a baby) melt down every once in a while. I left in tears because I was so angry and horrified by the way we were treated by these two. They shouldn’t work anywhere...
Read moreThis is a genuine little candy store. Many single items (hard candies and chews) to hand pick, bag, and pay for by the pound. They also offer a wide assortment of nuts, also available by the pound. In addition there is a regular assortment of common candy bars for purchase and other cute candy items both chocolate and/or sugary.
My only gripe, and I've been here a lot, is the climate, that is, the atmosphere. For a candy store the place is a bit "cold" and unwelcomeing, think of the cranky Willy Wonka. The one who despite his love for candy, in some way, seems to loathe guests and/or children. He is perfectly fine with only his Oompa Loompas. A shame considering how neat this candy store is. And while I do love the candy, and like the store, for this reason,...
