Yesterday, July 9th, was my first time visiting this Indian restaurant. Lol, I must be honest, at first I was a little bit alarmed because when I pulled up in the parking lot it was dark outside already for one and the place next to the restaurant had some of it's workers congregating on the outside. The GPS was routing me through the neighborhood to get here so I remember thinking "where is this place even located?" before I got there. I finally found the restaurant and when I did it didn't strike me as a typical Indian restaurant. Initially I wanted to order online and then pick up my order but online there is only the option to order and have GrubHub or Door dash deliver; I didn't need those services. So since I couldn't order online without the delivery service I called the restaurant. I could tell when I was ordering on the phone that the staff I was speaking to wasn't Indian, and after arriving at the restaurant and observing for as long as I did haha I saw the same thing. I had never been to any Indian restaurant in which I never saw an actual Indian person working there but there's a first for everything haha. I ordered my food 30 mins earlier than when I arrived and it was gonna be ready in an hour so I sat in my car outside the restaurant for a good while just to observe. This place was getting major business from all different types of culture people. Plus reading the reviews from past customers everyone has only had nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. When it came time for me to pick up my order they called me and I went inside. Lol definitely still not getting Indian restaurant vibes which was a real first for me especially since the music playing was also not Indian lol. I grew up in Waukegan tho so it made me think of my hometown. I have a large family so I ordered 2 kheer, 4 mango lassi, 7 chicken Tikka masala (1 spicy & 6 mild-medium), 7 naan, & 1 tandoori chicken. (I forgot to mention that the staff member that took my order had called me not long after I ordered because the masala doesn't come with rice at this restaurant. If you want rice that's $2.95 extra btw.. I ended up getting one haha). The staff was friendly and because I had a large order the man helped me carry my food to my car. Very good customer service. So let's get to the food. The first thing I did was check if everything was there. Everything checked out. Next thing I did was eat my dessert. Lol I always sway more to the sweets first plus I'm in the car and I gotta start heading back home. No time to really sit down and enjoy the naan + chicken Tikka masala. The kheer I ordered was amazing!!! I liked their take on it. Other places I've been to it's been bitter 🤢 or thick and although still delicious not as sweet. This kheer had more sweet condensed milk and was very delicious because of that. It was just so good. I didn't try the other stuff till later. Tandoori chicken was the bomb.com lol 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Seasoned so nicely. Lol I was real hungry but everything was tasting good. Next thing I tried was the mango lassi, and personally had I not ordered this I would have given this place a 5/5. I've been used to a sweeter mango lassi from my regular Indian restaurant that I go to in the city lol so they spoiled me haha. This lassi was less on the sweeter side for me and that's because they make it with mango and their own store made yogurt, no sugar added is what the man explained before I had bought it. I always ask because everywhere makes it different. Although it wasn't bad it wasn't my favorite. Kudos to them for making their own yogurt though and using actual mango and no sugar to make their mango lassi. It really just came down to personal preference. My mom would like this version because she doesn't like to take too much sugar but I on the other hand love my sweets haha. I wasn't able to try the naan + chicken tikka masala yet but I met up with my sister to give her, her order and she said that the spicy masala and naan was also 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. My mother & brother also said the same. This...

Read moreThis was the first time we dined in. The decor is nice inside; however, it was way too hot inside, with little air conditioning or air flow. The food was delicious as usual though. I tried the vegetable Pakoras and the chicken Korma, which were both delicious!
This was the first time I ate their food. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants for over 30 years, and also cook my own Indian dishes occasionally. I decided to try them because of their online story, which mentions that they would gladly accommodate people with food allergies and sensitivities. My husband and I are both gluten intolerant. Many restaurants are not inclusive like this and basically say, "eat at your risk, etc.", which is always understood for people like us, but I often feel left out. Their short online story was written so eloquently and was also impressive.
Now for the food! I ordered the Chili Chicken for the appetizer. This had a really good, slightly sweet taste. I think the chicken was lightly dusted with cornstarch and fried first, then put into the sauce. It was a little dry, but still delicious. I also ordered the Lamb Biryani, which was very arromatic and tasty. The lamb didn't taste too gamy like it sometimes can, so I was glad. The last dish I had was Bhindi Masala because I love okra. This was the best version I have ever had, although the okra was both too soft and too fibrous at the same time, but if you know okra like I do, (I grew it a couple times) it's not always avoidable due to the nature of the veggie. The depth of flavor in this okra was amazing! I will definitely be going back there and may even get a party catered in the future! I want to thank the employees there for explaining to me which foods are not...
