AVOID FOR CUSTOM ORDERS- BUILD TO ORDER
I wanted to get all new quality furniture for one room and I was willing to pay for it. I had heard excellent things about lazy boy and of course they have a great reputation. I ordered two custom sofas to match and even ordered custom pillows. One of the sofas is great and I love it but the other sofa was delivered with a very visible mistake in sewing on the arm. One one arm the pleats are nice and neat with no puckering and on the other end there pleat looks something like my amateur sewing with puckering along the arm of the sofa. It seems the padding in that area was damaged so possibpe something happened during transportation. I called lazy boy come out to repair it and when their tech came he advised it was a mistake in the factory and that it could not be repaired in my home. I followed up over 6 times to get help from customer service but kept getting transferred promised call backs that never came.
10 months later (credit card inquiries were closed several times without my knowledge so I have had to place the same inquiry and submit documents over 4 times in addition to the time trying to resolve this with lazy boy) the best they have offered is to come to my home and fix it and give me a credit of $400 which would be fine if they could guarantee the quality of the repair which they will note. The only reason I got this offer was because I reached out to to the financing company to challenge the charge. I would not do business with this company because at this price I expect better quality and better service. In the future I will go to other furniture dealers because if I have to take a gamble i will not pay top dollar.
The buying process was great and the sales team was wonderful. At the end of the day what they needed to get right was to send a couch with no quality issues.    Read moreI would give this a minus stars if it would allow it. Purchasing it was easy. Love the couch but their scheduling is the worse. Twice we were called to have our couch delivered. Waited for their three hour window and both times no couch. No phone call informing us of the situation. Very aggravating. The 1st time they said when our couch was being put on the truck they noticed a rip in the arm. It would need to be repaired and they would let us know when it would be in. The 2nd time after the no call no show we were told they had no idea why we were scheduled for delivery. The part was not in. What part? Only to find that they would be replacing the arm not repairing it. Weeks later another call left on our machine that they want to schedule delivery. Ok I thought great. Only to call the store and speak to Bethany. She starts to schedule a date and time . I mentioned so this is for sure coming. She tells me to hold on. Then she gets back on the line and asks me what is my problem. My problem? My problem is your scheduling dept. She then tells me the part is not here and I will get a phone call when it's in. This was a nightmare. I did speak to the store manager after the 2nd no delivery and my husband went in to the store to see about straightening this out. Get another message on our machine saying the couch is in. This time I call and ask for the manager but she won't be in til Friday. We finally did get our couch and guess what. They waived the delivery charge and gave us 5% off....just too much of a hassle dealing with all of this. My time is important. I paid in full for this couch too.    Read moreThis La-Z-Boy has a wonderful collection of furniture, although we special-ordered to get a specific fabric. The sales associate who helped us, Cal, was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the furniture, and totally open about cost options available. The initial order arrived in less than 6 weeks, even though I had phoned and added items to it. We then ordered another custom piece, and that was ready in about 4 weeks. The in-house interior designer, Don, was absolutely amazing, using the video-display functions to suggest alternate furniture pieces, arrangements, and floor coverings which really helped our selection process, Several of the young ladies who are sales associates also were unfailingly polite and helpful, and Alicia placed my second order without even a second visit to the store. Our room was almost bare, and now looks effortlessly warm and comfortable. The motion furniture was very reasonably priced after promotional sales, and my husband loves the power-options recliner he uses every day. We have had previous experience with the La-Z-Boy brand (since 1975), and would never purchase any other brand because of its durability and continuing beauty and stain-resistance. The promotional interest-free financing was also very attractive, but the furniture itself is always the primary selling point.
