When I first called All Creatures I was surprised that they were able to get my dog in the following day for a grooming appointment - they had such great reviews AND availability?! I must be dreaming. A terrible haircut & $300 vet bill later I understood why. When I dropped my dog off the first red flag was that they me sign waiver that they're not responsible for razor burn/nicks associated with the grooming process. I had a moment when I was reading the waiver that I almost cancelled the appointment, but then someone came up and took my dog away from me before I was finished with the paperwork and I didn't want to make a scene. I've taken my dog to many groomers in the past and have never had to sign a waiver as extensive as this and that specifically says they're not liable for razor burns/nicks. As a groomer you should take responsibility if a pet is injured as a direct result of the grooming process - this is a poor business practice. Another major issue I had was that there wasn't much discussion about what I wanted for the groom - it wasn't discussed on the phone when I made the appointment or when I dropped her off - instead they called me several hours into the grooming to discuss. I explained that I wanted her shaved down but not too short - at least 2 inches. Something was obviously lost in translation because she was definitely cut extremely short. When I arrived to pick my dog up, they had me checkout (including leaving a tip, which I wouldn't have been as generous with had I already seen her) before they actually brought her out. When they brought her out her hair was extremely short, which is not what I discussed with the groomer on the phone but at this point it was too late. My dog was adamant about getting out of the building so I did not want to stay and discuss this issue with the groomer. When we got home I was able to take a closer look at her and the haircut was awful - there were tons of areas that are poorly blended/choppy and the razor marks are obvious (see photos). I've had my dog for 10 years and she has been to many different groomers and I've never experienced a grooming this terrible. Later that night (her grooming appointment ended mid-day) her skin turned bright red (see photos) and she was visibly uncomfortable - scratching/biting at her hind legs. The following day (Saturday) she was painful and would snap at me if I tried to handle her at all (which is not usually an issue). This was heartbreaking to me. I'm not accusing All Creatures of doing anything malicious, but something clearly happened that made my dog painful the following day. We ended up having to take our dog to the vet on Monday (3 days after her grooming appointment), who started her on medications to help with the itching and pain. The experience at All Creatures was an absolute nightmare. I've been hesitant to post this review because I have no interest in interacting with this business any further but I feel it's important to share my experience so that other pet owners are aware.

I Tell you that they can do no wrong in my eyes at All Creatures Pet Grooming. I have been taking my fur babies there for at least the last 10 years. I started going there because I had a Rottweiler that had gotten too big at the last groomer. They actually were the one’s that referred me. Ever since then my last three other babies have gone there. They are always very pleasant. If for any reason I need them to make a little adjustment, they don’t frown they will just do it with no questions asked. I actually had a time where I asked if they could cut a little bit more hair off my fur baby’s face, and the lady was actually getting ready to leave out the door, she stopped, turned around, took my baby in the back and did it. That is what I called the epitome of awesome customer service. I have referred a lot of people there from different counties here in Florida. Also, it doesn’t hurt that they have great merchandise that is nicely priced. I also had an unexpected emergency once and had to use them to board 2 of my babies while they were there to be groomed, and they did not hesitate to let me know that my babies would be in safe hands until I could come and pick them up. also, I’ve had the pleasure of enrolling my babies in daycamp, which one of them, the Frenchy absolutely loves. Because she is so hyper. I always ask them to put her in camp with the bigger dogs and they love her and she love them I’ve never had a problem at all.The quality of service there is like no other.

I will start by saying I don’t like negatively reviewing companies because I know it may not apply to everyone who works there and could affect their business. The fact I’m sharing this should tell you how important this is to me. I had a horrible experience at All Creatures last week, am dealing with the effects of it now and will be for awhile. I dropped my Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix off for a haircut. She was a bit matted from swimming, so I told the groomer who I’ve never used before that I usually like her long with just an eyes/hygienic trim, but I understand a bit will be trimmed off of her back/belly to keep it even since she had a few matts at the end of her hair. I return to pick her up where they made me sign a waiver AFTER cutting her, the groomer had left before they brought her out to me, and when I saw her I didn’t even recognize my own dog. They shaved her down to her SKIN all over. My poor dog has a double coat because she is part Australian Shepherd and she is freezing cold all day inside under a blanket, and her skin is getting too hot quickly outside because she no longer has her temperature control!!! Besides that, she bled all over when I picked her up because this groomer cut her nails too short. My poor girl!!!! This is a nightmare - not only because I feel like my dog doesn’t even resemble the puppy I dropped off, but also for her HEALTH. I will NEVER visit this establishment again and I suggest you avoid it as well.

UPDATE 2/4/21: I went to a different groomer but was told my dog was not allowing people to come near her, so I deiced to give All Creatures another go, and I'm glad I did.

They must've remembered my review, because for the first time they had a groomer talk to me about my preferences. I think this is something they should do with everyone on a regular basis because this was also the first time I was 100% pleased with her cut.

They also took time to sit with my dog outside before grooming her (she's not vicious by any means just anxious) and the staff understood that.

The young man working at the front (with dark brown curly hair) deserves a raise. He is always kind and professional.

I will be going back.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I really keep trying to like this place to support local, and have been going for a year but I am consistently disappointed and have decided I will not be going back. Here’s why:

They have on numerous occasions trimmed fur in areas I specifically asked not to trim

When I brought this concern up the young women working the register basically called me a liar. The owner then called me back after I hung up and said I would go elsewhere to berate me about how I spoke to her employee. After being scolded I was comped the cut so I went back sadly I was still disappointed

60% of the time I bring my dog in the forget to clip her dewclaw. I SPECIFICALLY brought this up and asked them to address and I now have 3 bleeding cuts on my arm because... surprise surprise they forgot to clip one of her dewclaws.

Their location is on a busy street with 0 parking and can make dogs very anxious before a cut

Save your money and your time having to go back for them missing your...

I booked a grooming and furnination for my dog because she sheds quite a bit and needed a gosh cleaning and nail trim. This business is close to my house and has decent reviews so I chose them. Yet, when I picked her up (which was an hour later than they stated at drop off) the groomer didn’t even finish the furmination because she said she had caused a sore spot on my dog from brushing her. In addition to that, I still had to pay for everything (and tip a groomer before I even saw my dog) which was more expensive than the website stated in their pricing information. I received my dog with a piece of cloth made into a bandana so I didn’t notice that her Soresto was not on because of the bandana. I called back and someone said I could come pick it up. I couldn’t go back that day All Creatures was already an hour later than scheduled and I was almost late for work. I’ve been back three times and the business is shut down, I would assume from covid. So now no Soresto and I can’t afford to purchase a new one at the moment because the pandemic is making things kind of difficult and the Soresto is pretty pricey and that one was new. I’m just tired of trying at this point and I’ve given up with All Creatures and won’t be returning. Nobody has given the level of service one would expect with people’s pets. My dog is an emotional support animal so I had a very difficult time mentally when I dropped her off but from the delay in pick up, to the sore spot (which is still there more than a month later and is the reason I’m leaving the review) to not getting the collar, I’m just...
