I've now been twice to this Spa for a pedicure (before security in main terminal), both times I have left bleeding. Seriously. The first time I was cut with the cuticle clippers. She didn't tell me she cut me, just put something on it to stop the bleeding. Note that you can fully recline which is what I did. What ever she did hurt but it wasn't until I was walking again, my toe started to hurt them more I walked and so I looked closer and saw I had an actual slice wound. I thought this was a fluke. Just went back this week, surely I would be safe. Told the tech to NOT use cuticle clippers or cut any skin, just buff. While she was filing my nail, the edge of the file was digging into my skin. it started to hurt pretty bad and just when I was going to say "OUCH" she finally stopped. So I didn't say anything. I am still horizontal in the massage chair. She went through with the rest of the scrub and lotion and massage. I do not use polish so didn't look closely when I was done. When I was walking again through the terminal, and my toe was really starting to hurt, gain, I looked down and I actually have blood flowing from my toe. She didn't even use something to stop the bleeding. By the time I arrived at my destination, the underside of my nail was filled with blood. I had to cover my toe with neosporin and a bandaid all weekend. And, it hurts. Not how I wanted my toes to be on my vacation. I used to exclusively use Xpresspa because I thought they were safe and I had never been injured before. But I seriously cannot go back. I love the chairs and used to feel safe getting pedicures here. These are 30-45min pedicures for $55+tip. I should not have to worry about getting open wounds and subsequent infections during a pedicure. For my safety, I won't be using them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a little down time between flights during the President weekend in Orlando and badly needed a manicure. Stopped in at location MCO-8 with no waiting time and the clerk took care of nails. After much convincing, the clerk talked me into getting a pedicure. I looked around the store after my manicure and noticed a few people walked in and not many clerks available. I thought I was going to proceed to the pedicure chair when the clerk asked if it was okay for her to take on another customer to wax her eyebrows which wouldn't take long. I reluctantly said it was okay but after waiting for about 20 minutes and a few new clerks walked in, I decided to leave without the pedicure. No one else was able to assist me. Now, you may not think this isn't too bad, but after years of seeing how I, as a Black woman, gets pushed to the back of the line when a White woman needs attention and don't get the service I deserve and was going to pay, is totally frustrating. The manager, in which I didn't get name, is the person I'm pissed off who didn't apologize but not the clerk, who did a great job on my nails. They need to treat all people equally and not by the color...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt the gate 1-29 location. My first time ever going to an XpresSpa and certainly my last.
I showed the lady my priority pass app, she marked it down on a piece of paper and helped set me up for a massage chair. Asked a couple questions turned the chair on, put the remote out of reach, and then walked away.
After about 60 seconds, the chair had rotated 90 degrees back and was causing me immense pain. I was screaming for her to stop it as was unable to reach the remote. After 30 seconds of screaming, thinking she must be running over any second now. I had to climb out of the chair which was elevated off the ground.
I walked up to the lady and I told her I wanted to leave and my money back. She told me she couldn't but she could reset the chair to something less intense. I stupidly let her talk me back into the death trap. Thankfully I was able to complete the session without it trying to kill me this time.
A couple days later I find out she triple charges me. Taking 3 of my priority pass passes. I had to call up priority pass and explain the situation so they could reverse those...
