If I could give this hotel a 0/5 I would. I booked a king size bed room through a third party on March 31 2023 to stay a night here on Dec 22 2023. My vacation started off frustrating because our flight delayed 3 times before we finally got to check in at 1am. Upon check in, the service was super slow, when it was finally our turn, the lady told us the king size bed rooms were sold out and I was offered a queen size bed instead, at that time, i just wanted to head to sleep because we were catching a cruise in the morning the following day so I said ok. When we got to our room, room#1026, I realized they gave us a conference room with a PULL out queen sofa bed, I was expecting a normal room with a regular queen size bed and not a conference room with a boardwalk table in the middle and a pull out sofa bed right? I called with the conference rooms phone to reception, they placed me on hold for a good few mins, I lost patience and went downstairs to complain, the manager came over and said “I’m sorry but unfortunately all the rooms are sold out tonight and this is the only room we have at the moment”, to me it seems like they SOLD my room because I had reserved this room on March 31 2023 but the manager was nice enough to offer us complimentary breakfast the next morning so I just let it go and went back upstairs. When I got back upstairs, we only found one pillow and one bed sheet, I tried calling numerous times with the phone and no one answered, this got me even more pissed. I told my husband to go downstairs and ask for more pillows and a blanket, next thing you know, a gentlemen knocks on my door and says “sorry we are out of pillows and blankets and handed me two thin mattress sheets” THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!What kind of 4 star hotel is this? Getting put in a conference room, should they even be selling a conference room to customers? NO PILLOWS and BLANKETS??? My husband ending up sleeping without a pillow that night and we were really cold, we even got sick due to this. The sofa bed was so uncomfortable and every time you move the springs sounded like they were going to snap anytime, The next morning, we had their “complimentary” breakfast, didn’t expect much from it. When checking out, I confirmed that I shouldn’t be paying for the breakfast and the front desk said yes the manager put a note to waive it for you. When we got on the cruise the next day, I checked my CC and saw that they charged me $55 USD, one week later after I got off the cruise, I called them to see what those charges was, the girl said looks like u were charged for breakfast. I was like I got placed in a conference room and the manager said she was going to apply complimentary breakfast for us, she placed me on hold for a couple mins, came back and reversed the funds back to my CC, I still lost the conversion rate though. This is our terrible experience at a 4 star hotel, I feel like I should be compensated more than a breakfast. This is how they treat their customers and lack of communication with their staff. The management team obviously needs improvement. I hope Bruce McDonald will be reaching out to me and if he does, I will update my review, As of now, I will never recommend anyone to come here. Read moreWe have stayed at several airport hotels – and when I say “airport hotels,” I mean hotels that are located IN airports. We generally do this when we are looking for the convenience of not having to waste time and effort leaving the airport grounds when we have a red-eye flight. Our experiences have not always been good ones, but we realize that’s the risk we take. The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport stands apart as a positive example of what an airport hotel should be.
We’ve stayed here several times. Every time, the service has been consistently excellent. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean and spacious. We have never had to wait in a long line to check in. The staff? Always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The location? Centrally located, right smack in the middle of the concourse – not way down at one end after a long walk (or worse, in a completely separate structure reached only through many twists and turns, several elevator rides, and confusing routes through construction zones).
This particular visit was in conjunction with a Disney cruise, a new experience for us. The hotel staff answered all our questions about where and when we should meet the cruise personnel and what we could expect. A separate area was set aside expressly for this purpose.
The food! McCoy’s Bar & Grill never disappoints. The half-dozen meals we’ve had there have been consistently delicious, no matter what we’ve ordered. The service is prompt. Just like the staff at the front desk, the wait staff is likewise friendly and efficient. Also, McCoy’s prices are far more reasonable than those of other airport hotel restaurants (a mediocre $42 hamburger comes to mind). Last night I had sushi at McCoy’s and it was easily on a par with any of my favorite sushi bars.
We had a red-eye flight very early this morning. As we were preparing to be seated for dinner last evening, my husband asked the McCoy’s hostess how early they opened for breakfast. Alas, not early enough. We assumed we’d be grabbing something quick inside the airport concourse. But the hostess told us that McCoy’s had an “overnight menu” especially for our situation! She took our breakfast order and told us that it would be charged to our room and delivered by one of the night security guards at whatever time we specified. We asked for delivery at 4:15 a.m. The security guard showed up at 4:08 a.m.. The order was 100% correct. You can’t ask for better convenience than that!
Our particular situation calls for me to itemize expenses under certain circumstances. I looked at our hotel folio and saw that the breakfast charge only showed the total but not the itemization of the individual things we had ordered. I called McCoy’s and spoke with the restaurant manager, Jose Ortiz, and explained that I needed an itemized receipt. He was able to locate it immediately, and it was in my email inbox less than 20 minutes later.
THIS is how EVERY business should be run. I wish I could give this rating 100 stars. We don’t often have occasion to visit Orlando, but I can’t imagine that we would stay anywhere else in the area regardless of the reason for our visit. Everything about this hotel is...
Read moreUpon staying at the Hyatt International Airport in Orlando, multiple times. We decided to stay again, enjoy the run way views, and relax till our 6pm flight. at a beautiful $446.
We had requested an paid for late checkout, being 3pm. Enjoyed the views, ate at Mccoys, and grabbed our things at 3 and headed down to tsa. Upon getting through tsa an sitting, a $250 charge was applied to our credit card on file.
Calling and asking, we were charged for dumping sodas on the bed and smearing cake across the floor. An now the room was unrentable due to how we left it.
Never, would we ever behave in this way. for any reason. Maybe due to late checkout the maid didnt want to clean the room, or maybe due to me having no cash for a tip and the maid retaliating. Spoke to front office manager who insured it was not his house keeping team and that we had infact done this to the room. Blown away of the accusations, we requested photos of said damage. Pictures were sent of trash from the trash bin in a perfect line to the bed, an two bottles of soda dumped in one spot on the bed. Fresh soda still pooled in the bare holes of the mattress. Thankfully we had photos of us leaving, which showed that we had not caused such damage to the room. Bags out of the room as i had stopped to check quickly to check my debit card was in my bag. Upon calling back, explaining to the manager again, we did not do this, it was absurd, and sending our photo of proof, the manager stated they would look into this and issue a $250 refund on the cleaning fee. No word of taking any form of action with said house keeper that had defaced company property. That still it wasnt his housekeeper an he was issuing the refund.
To anyone staying here, be diligient in taking a photo of your room before you leave the room. Have proof. as im sure this will unfortunately happen to many more people.
I would have reccommended this hotel to anyone, prior to this incident. A $250 refund on the fee we NEVER should have been charged, and points towards a free night stay, does not make up for a maid going through our trash an framing us as doing it. Nor does it help being told we did it and housekeeping would not do that. No refund on our night stay, that was unfortunatly, completly ruined by the actions of their staff.
At almost $500... treated this way...the stress put on me, and having a maid deface their own bed an floor...
How am i supposed to trust my room was even cleaned before i stayed the night ....if the maid acted this way after i left? Did i sleep in a dirty bed? shower in a dirty shower? Use an uncleaned toilet? A refund is in order for our we were treated and lack of trust in our roon being cleaned prior to our stay.
Our time as Hyatt world members, has ended due to these...
