I never give negative reviews but in this case I feel I need to. We rented an insulation blower about a year or so ago, returned it the next morning. Apparently their system did not close out our contract, we rec'd a collections letter 2 months later, with no prior calls, etc. I spoke with Mark Martin, a manager at our Owensboro Home Depot. He assured me it was a fake collection letter (their office puts it out) so my credit wasn't affected, and he'd take care of it, as their system just had not closed out the contract upon return. I requested a letter stating it was their error, just in case, as we had just put an offer on another house. He said he'd send me one. He also said this on two other occasions when I called him every couple months, last time was 4/28/18. No letter rec'd x 3. Yesterday my husband got a call from someone wondering if he "was the person by that name that had rented the insulation blower a year ago, and had the mix-up about the return". They were returning our deposit, if we wanted to come get it, but on a home depot card, not by cash or check. My husband was not happy. Plus Mark Martin had not left any acct number, phone number, or address with the card, just my husband's name. There are at least 4 locally with the same name that I know of. So they had been calling all of them asking if it was them. Incompetence at the highest degree. So since we couldn't take our returned deposit anywhere else, we spent it at home depot and left. We will not shop there again. Oh, and home depot said there were several other people they did this to.....and they now have scrubbed that rental computer program. Which is something, I guess. They probably should also educate management regarding customer service and how to return a clients money in the form...
Read moreAfter spending thousands of dollars on countertops through Home Depot, we were scheduled with Trademark Universal Countertops out of Louisville as a subcontractor through a countertop project from the Owensboro Home Depot. Charlie reached out to us quickly and seemed to be knowledgeable. We really had no issues until the day of install. Our contract stated that we should be home on the day of install to move appliances to limit the liability of the contractor. Despite my husband being home, the contractors moved our stove back into place themselves once the countertops were in to check for fit. He was in another room at the time. They caused a large scratch in our new vinyl flooring which they did not admit to my husband, and he did not notice it until approximately 30 minutes after they had left. We made attempts to contact Charlie about the damage, but he completely denied any responsibility for the damage despite admitting that he did move the stove and then wouldn't reply to our messages. I am not upset so much about the damage, but more about the fact that they wouldn’t own their mistake and make it right or help us in any way to repair the floor. Be warned- they simply don't care about you or your home. Will never use this company again. We made Home depot aware of the issues with the subcontractor and they did not help us in any way. Wouldn’t purchase...
Read moreThe only reason my review is one star is because it won’t let me put zero. Bought carpet from Home Depot in Owensboro, Ky and installed by a company that they contract out. The contractors we supposed to install it on a certain day and never showed up on the installation date, no call nothing. The secretary I spoke to didn’t even know about the situation. Personally if you say you are going to do a job on a certain day then it should be done that day, barring a catastrophic circumstance, and even then the customer should be notified. Asked for cash compensation and at the very least a significant coupon. Both Home Depot and the contractor said the other company was responsible, I wasn’t given compensation in any way. The manager I dealt with said he tried what he could but obviously didn’t if so i would’ve received compensation and I wouldn’t be writing this review. Will not shop at Home Depot or use the contractor that they...
