I love visiting this store, and I do so often (usually 2 or 3 times a week minimum). I have an addiction to shopping and if I'm in Owensboro TJMAXX will be where I go. They have a great selection of handbags by different designers from higher end like Michael Kors, Longchamp, Kate Spade, Patricia Nash, Coach, and Dooney and Burke, and Italian Leather Designers that I'm not familiar with, all the way to mid priced like Calvin Klein, Steve Madden, Jessica Simpson, the Sak, etc. They also have a great selection of belts for men and women if you need one. I've found some of my favorite sunglasses at a TJMAXX as well. The things that bring me in so often are the more affordable things like the hair products, skin and body products, definitely the make-up, and my newest obsession is Rae Dunn, so I'm constantly looking through the kitchen, seasonal, and the coffee mug section looking for pieces. I want to give a shout out though to the staff at this location. For the most part everyone is helpful (I won't name drop the bad egg), but the managers Beth, and I believe Christine is a manager too are GREAT!! They literally have gone out of their way to help me several times, but last week the want above and beyond. I had asked Christine where a product was that they usually have a ton of because I had looked everywhere, and we couldn't find any, and a week later she spotted me from across the store to tell me that they had got a shipment with them in it in case I still needed them. That's great customer service!!! Then Beth did me a huge favor and held probably 20-25 green shirts for me for a day until I could bring my mother in to look at them. My mother doesn't get out to the store often but she wanted a green shirt for a picture she is having taken at her church, so I found every green shirt I thought she would like in her size and asked them to please hold them for me. While it doesn't sound like much for them to hold some clothes, I want to stress the enormity of the amount of clothes I asked this woman to hold for me, and she did it no problem. Again great customer service. BTW, my mother bought four of the shirts so she didn't hold them for nothing. 😊 I just wanted to say that this is a great store where I find much of what I need, it's clean, and it has great, friendly, helpful...
Read moreI usually find some great things for cheaper than usual prices in T.J.Maxx. It has been one of my main go to stores for new clothing & accessories since it opened in the 90's (their purse, body care & shoe section in particular are always awesome and contain a very diverse selection). They also have one of the nicest fitting rooms of any department store I've ever visited; cushioned seats, plenty of full length mirrors and room enough to stretch out while changing(added bonus: no harsh overhead lighting making people look like Night of the Living Dead extras). I gave this store a 3 star rating due to several less then stellar features that could use some serious improvements. First, their selection for men is severely lacking; the section containing men's clothing is pitifully small & finding popular brand names there is very hit or miss. They do not carry any men's shoes. Next, the clothing racks & item shelves are always in chaos and need to be better organized. With so many products, it is inevitable that things will get shuffled from place to place. However, the staff should do a better job of keeping everything order (or at the least keep all the sizes and like items together) so that it provides a smoother shopping experience for the consumer. Adding a plus size section would be helpful as well. In addition to the men's section needing work, the women's jeans & women's dress sections could use aid as well. Both departments are seriously lacking in variety and the number of products to choose from ranges from small to non-existent. The home section at T.J.Maxx falls somewhere in between really awesome and epic fail. When it's good, one could literally go broke shopping that one area alone! When it's bad though, it reminds me of the shelves at Goodwill: a mismash of odds and ends with one thing never matching another. Even with room to improve, overall T.J.Maxx is a great store. I would much rather shop here then at Gabes or Ross, both of which carry lesser...
Read morepicked up a bucket of large Lego type blocks but when I got to the counter to pay, the bottom of the bucket was badly broken. unfortunately it was the last bucket on the shelf. I was buying it for my 20 month old grandson. They argued with me at the counter and told me it could still be played with. I agreed that the blocks could still be played with but I could not give the storage bucket to my grandson as it would cut him. after more arguing they finally gave me 10 percent off. I feel I should have gotten at least 20 to 30 percent off as the bucket had to be trashed and i had to go to another store and buy something else to store...
