We went to Cold Stone to celebrate a friend's birthday. We came right around 9pm on a Saturday. According to their sign and the internet, they close at 10pm. The lobby was pretty packed and had about 15 others standing in a tight space. Our group included 7 more. We went to sit down after getting our ice cream and we were told they couldn't because their tables, chairs, and windows were already sanitized. Despite the fact that others were sitting down in the other corner we were told that was a different situation. We went ahead and sat down because it wouldn't take more than 5 minutes to re sanitized and it didn't make sense to close all the seating areas over an hour before closing. We were then told that their lobby was closed even thought everyone was eating their ice cream standing up in a already small store. Nowhere online or in store was any closing times for their lobby. They said they would have to tell us to leave and would call the cops if we didn't. They kept arguing with us even though the other groups in the store also felt the same way and mention their concerns. When leaving, one of the blonde girls flip us off as we left. There were a 3 separate groups in this building around 9pm around 20-35 total and we were told we could sit because they already had cleaned the tables. Another customer came in and voiced their concerns and the staff was just very argumentative. We were all told the lobby was closed yet we were able to buy our ice cream in the lobby and stand up in the lobby eating our ice cream. We just couldn’t use the seating. We asked for our money back since we never received what payed for but our request was declined. Owner said we couldn't get refund because we didn't answer the phone at 10pm (not everyone works seconds and stays up that late our order was at 6pm).
