Vaught Hemingway Stadium — Attraction in Oxford

Visited this stadium for the first time this weekend for the Morgan Wallen concert and was highly disappointed. The organization of this event was a joke! It took us FOUR HOURS to get across campus and make it to our $52 parking spot, causing us to miss the first 2 acts. You would think by paying so much for a parking spot you would have a better flow of traffic and make it easier on people to get to where they were going, but no. Then when we finally get to our seats, we realize that we paid $300 for “a seat” which consisted of about 10 inches of a bleacher. There was no security anywhere in the stadium besides at the entrances and on the floor. Since there was no security around the rest of the stadium, no one was in their assigned seating. Instead, they were standing right in front of you on top of the bleachers blocking your view the whole time. The show consisted of us begging people to please get down from the bleachers and get onto the cement so we could also see and enjoy the show in our seats that we paid for. Again, these were not the seats that they paid for! To top it all off, Ole Miss was selling floor tickets for almost $800. 2 days before the show, floor seats were still available so they changed the ticket price to $115, and wouldn’t allow people that already had purchased tickets to exchange theirs for floor tickets. I paid $300 for my ticket high up in section F, and offered to pay a fee and not get the remaining money back for my exchange and they still said no. How sad is it that people had to work so hard to get tickets in the first place, and then you just change floor tickets right by the stage for such a low price. Recently, my family and I had the opportunity to attend a University of Mississippi football game, which was a fantastic experience. My dad and stepmom invited us to join them for tailgating at the Grove, which was awesome. The atmosphere was electric, with friendly fans all around us. The walk to the stadium was enjoyable, and we could feel the excitement building up.

Once inside the stadium, we were greeted with a thrilling game between the University of Mississippi and their opponents. As passionate football fans, we fully embraced the spirit of the game. The seating in the stadium was perfect, offering us a clear view of the field. The energy from the crowd was contagious, making every play even more exhilarating. The entire experience truly showcased the passion and spirit of college football.

Unfortunately, the only downside to the day was that I misplaced my Google Pixel 7 Pro cell phone during the festivities, and, unfortunately, I haven't been able to recover it. However, I don't want that to overshadow my overall positive experience during the game.

The crowd and staff are great but the stadium will not stop blasting some kind of painfully loud noise over the sound system for a single moment unless forced to by the NCAA. Even when the band is playing alone (which is rare) they pipe it in over the loudspeakers so you can hear the band play then there is a short delay and you hear it again over the loudspeaker and it turns into a cacophony. Top tier college football stadiums I have been to rely more on the band and crowd noise and chants which creates a much more exciting atmosphere. All the rap and rock music they blast at Vaught Hemingway seems like something you would do to mask tepid crowd noise and I don’t think...
