City of Palm Desert Cahuilla Hills Park — Attraction in Palm Desert

A hidden gem! I have lived in Palm Desert for over three years, and didn't know about this place until a neighbor mentioned it. We took the Herb Jeffries trail, cut across through Hopalong Cassidy to end up back where we started. Parking is limited, but I think one could park on a residential street, walk across the bridge to the trail head. Our 6- and 4-year olds didn't have a problem, and while our two-year old was willing to walk it, I was concerned about him falling. We did encounter a couple of runners as well as mountain bikers, so keep that in mind. Bring water. And warm clothing if hiking during cooler weather. We didn’t know what to expect of palm desert as it was just the location of our hotel on a road trip through, but wow the scenery here was lovely and we took some time to explore this local hiking park area. Definitely come early in the hot season and bring water and good shoes. Great trail system. The map at the front isn’t great but all trails helps.

Saw at least 10 bighorn sheep 🐏 this morning 🌄 around 9am near the trailhead (2nd bend B&G trail). Lots of young ones. One with collar. A bit skittish if you get too close.
