Swiss Donuts — Restaurant in Palm Desert

I feel like this place has changed. It used to be run by some Cambodians. But the two girls there now seem really grumpy and I felt like I was bothering them to ask for simple things like napkins. There was a homeless girl allowed to sit in the corner. I mean, I'm all for helping the homeless but in this situation, it was awkward to sit there with this woman staring at me with a weird smile like she was considering going postal on the customers spending 14 bucks on two slices of ham (edit : upon looking at the video I posted, I noticed it's actually only one slice. ONE SLICE??) and a single slice of cheese. Which I'm now trying to figure out why I was spending that on bad attitudes and prison style cafeteria food. It tasted like it was cooked right but kind of hard to mess up a pre-made portioned 3 ingredient meal. Coffee was so incredibly hot, I'm not sure how the cups were able to carry it without disintegrating instantly. At first I thought maybe the place is struggling and they weren't getting much business but I sat for about long enough for my coffee to go from nuclear hot to scorching and there was a steady stream of people buying stuff with a lot of regulars. I must've missed something because for the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would return to this place let alone be a regular. I came here yesterday in person and I explained that I wanted to specifically pre order a dozen Chocolate doughnuts with sprinkles and I come the next day and I get the doughnuts I had pre paid for and they are DOUGHNUTS WITH chocolate glaze. So I let her know that this was not what I ordered? and that I said I ordered chocolate doughnuts and she replies “ oh well we just put chocolate on top and that’s our chocolate doughnut for the company” so you mean to tell me that , I came in person yesterday pre ordered and we agreed on the doughnut itself is going to be chocolate with sprinkles on top and repeated the order back and then pre paid and Then basically tells me there’s nothing she can do when I come in and see I have 12 doughnuts I didn’t order? But I paid 22 dollars for 12 doughnuts I didn’t order and I’m just stuck with them? And doesn’t inform me that “ there style of chocolate doughnuts is just to put chocolate glaze on top? We will forever consider this Swiss donuts our home away from home. We are visitors to the area and only come now and again, but we always love the donuts and our last trip made a strong impact! While munching on our delicious breakfast with my 4 girls and our dog, my youngest accidentally locked our keys and my phone inside my car. It was 110 degrees out and I found myself needing to navigate a long phone call with AAA, which the owner generously loaned me his personal cell phone to accomplish. We then had about a 2 hour wait instead of the 30 minutes they originally suggested. He continued to check on us, brought us inside, worried over us and our dog, gave us cold bottled water for free as he saw us sitting outside too long. Loaned me the store phone once again to check up on the delay. He chatted with my kids as I was dealing with the red tape of 2 states and AAA whatever’s.
