After moving to the area I was initially residing in Panama City off highway 231, a good half hour drive in traffic. My first trip to the beach from the other side or "in town" as locals call it was to the closest access I can get to and that was public Access 24. Although it can be crowded at times since there is a high-rise nearby and it is one of the quickest accesses from east of the Hathaway bridge, it's always nice to come back to this familiar, easily accessible spot. Parking can be tricky, if Ms Newbys is packed but usually it's the quickest beach within reach for anyone coming over the bridge. Earlier today I got to witness a shark fishing set up where the owner of the business would set up his rods in the sand and use a high-end drone to fly the bait over 500 yards out into the Gulf!
