#803 Worst hotel I've stayed in at PCB. Bring your Raid! The unit has recently been remodeled, so everything is new. First, we had to go a night without a tv in the master bedroom, because it would not turn on. My family had to sit around and wait for maintenance to attempt to fix it, but to no avail. They returned the next to replace the tv, which meant we had to sit around and wait on them again. My family came across several ROACHES! I saw the first roach run across the bathroom floor while I'm using the restroom. The next day, I made breakfast, that's when I came across the second ROACH, dead beside the frying pan. I no longer used anything in there for fear it was contaminated. My husband hid the last ROACH he found from me, because I was ready to check out. They offered to come and spray, but who wants there family to inhale chemicals, and risk more Roaches coming out. The let-out bed was filthy and full of crumbs, so you could tell that it was not properly cleaned. We had to wipe it down ourselves with our Lysol wipes. No way to lock doors on inside. I had to stand in the shower for 10min full of suds waiting for the water to turn hot. No place to put your shampoo, or soap in the shower except the floor. Large gap in bathroom door connected to bedroom that I wasn't fond of. Bring your own beach chairs, their chair is in poor condition along with the beach mat. No hot tub in bathroom as listed. Bed sheets have stains. I could continue, but I'm not going to waste anymore time on this horrible experience. I contacted their representative to see how they would fix the problem, and I'm still waiting for a resolution. All I kept hearing about was how much they spent on renovations. Which had nothing to do with the bugs running around. I have pictures to back up my experience. If you're not bothered by roaches, dirty let out beds, cold showers, or owners that don't reach out in a timely manner. This is your place. However, if you are concerned about the cleanliness, enjoy hot showers, and not bringing roaches to your home, look elsewhere. Daniel came to the unit and removed the ROACH himself! The fact is that the house keeper should have known that there was a ROACH in the drawers. You said this was minor to you, but to a family with kids who’s PAYING for 3 tv as Listed, is what we expected. We paid you On TIME with no issues. Isn’t it only fair that you stick to your end of the bargain? Providing honest service? The water is not HOT! Sheets dirty and ripped. You mentioned we wanted a refund. When did I ever tell you that I wanted a refund? I wanted you to do the honest thing. Daniel mentioned that they were going to offer $200 towards the next time we came. I let him know that we were not coming back. He said okay I will let them know, but he and this other guy that want answer my text assured me that they will do something for our inconvenience. I waited and waited. I haven’t heard anything from them. It’s dishonest to say that we wanted a full refund. If you want this headache, bring your family here. I contacted Better Business Bureau to report the fact that they don’t follow. Look at other reviews besides booking and you will see. My family goes on vacation twice a year with no issues. Now all of a sudden, you think we are so poor that we need a free vacation at your expense. That's laughable. It was only $600 that's crumbs my friend compared to what we usually spend. You haven’t even called me back to see what I wanted. I'm disappointed that you would call my family liar. God knows the truth and I can sleep peaceful at night. There will be other reviews with my same complaint if you don't fix the problem. Other reviews show how ROACHES are in the building. Do you not understand that they can come to your unit? Read moreDo not even know where to begin. First of all, the only reason I gave this a 1 star is because I had to, otherwise it would have been 0. The Summit was never always this bad. I’ve been going here for 21 years with a group of people that have been coming twice as long as I have. We’ve become a family with a lot of people we met there over the years. And all that changed this year when a single person (GM Claire) ruined it for a whole lot more of us. We always played music and line dances for everyone and we’ve never had anyone complain. Ever! In fact we always have guest come up and ask us to play something for them and their children. The music is never vulgar or blaring loud. It is just enough to dance in a corner of the pool . When the GM orders security to call the police and have us evicted if we play the music is just down right ludicrous. Security even told us that they have orders to do so and that she can’t even hear the music herself. If she looks out the window and sees people dancing, then it is too loud. Room 132 is extremely nice. Really nothing bad to say about this unit except that just for 5 nights in June was $2900. The year before it was $1900. I know inflation is bad but come on. And speaking of money, to get a case of beer at Bikini Bobs was $42. I walked 2 blocks down and got it for $24. The Tiki Bar is nice especially our bartender Nikki who has been there a very long time. She is not only a great bartender but she also became family to us. (You get 5 stars). Many parents were upset because they brought their children to come swim in the evening and the pools are shut down. You’re not told they close in the evenings when booking the room, but only to find out when they put out a sign by the pool saying they are closed. So it’s like what’s the point of even coming here if you can’t use the amenities. And you will be provided 1 parking pass. If you would like another one then chalk out $27. So if tou are staying in a room with several people and you have more than one car, it’ll cost ya extra. It’s easy to pick another place to go stay, but it is not easy making that decision after decades of coming here. It really is sad how bad this place has become at the present time. I’d be surprised even if the right people who could change some things even read or see these post. I’m sure they are mainly for guests looking for places to stay and get recommendations. As much as I have always spoken highly of the Summit in the past, it pains me to say to go find somewhere else to stay on the beach. Don’t waste your hard earned money here. So with that in mind, I have made the painful decision not to come back and we will find a new place where they care about their guests. I hope if they start to see people leaving this place then someone would do something about it. Have a great summer...
Read moreWe stayed in room 0908 and gave over $1700 to stay here. The pictures that were shown didn’t go with the actual room. There was supposed to be a king bed and bunk beds. There were no bunk beds and the king bed turned out to be two beds in one room. The two and a half baths were two toilets separated by a broken sliding door. It says it sleeps 5 people, but the hot water only lasted long enough for two people to shower. After that the water was cold! The floors were filthy and turned our feet black until I swept so much that it finally cleared! The toaster in our room burnt the toast and you had to watch it constantly so that you could pop it up yourself. There was a hole in the bathroom wall that was covered up with a picture. What was really disappointing was that the pool was supposed to stay open until 11 PM and it closed every night at 8, which left our children with nothing to do after dark. This should have been started on the website because I believe it was says that they were just refusing to update lighting so they lost their permit for night use of the pool! Lots of people choose where they stay based on the pool service so this was a pain! I was going to cook pizza one night on the ovens racks and I was very glad that I ran a towel across them first because they were filthy and rusty. There was a couple decent pans to cook the pizzas on so I was glad of that. The slowness of the elevators was a joke! To forever to get on and then forever to get off! The little bar at the pool could do better as well. We paid nearly $300 for a couple drink packages which included cups that you refill and then they only put a small amount of liquor in the drinks that you couldn’t even taste and they charged for extra shots! Not cool at all!!!! There was also a huge dog allowed on the property that lunged and growled and snared at my small 7 year old grandson when we turned a corner headed toward the elevators! That was very scary! The upsides to the room were one very important thing and that was that the air conditioner worked amazingly and even though the refrigerator worked great I had to put a towel down to keep us from sliding down because it leaked. A couple other upsides were that the two beds slept very comfortably and it had a great view of the beach. It was accessible to the beach, but should be upgraded to aide with wagons and coolers. We didn’t eat out much so I can’t give any information on the eateries in the area. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all and will never stay here again!
