Use weight that challenges you. If you’re picking up 50s and doing 4 sets of 12 without much struggle, you should be going up in weight! Lifting heavier with proper form will help you with mucle growth. Don’t go too heavy and use a spotter if you’re not 100% confident/comfortable with a lift. • • • • #fitness #gym #fitnessmotivation #fit #workout #motivation #bodybuilding #training #instagood #lifestyle #gymtok #arms #triceps #gains #flex #grow

I wanted to take this moment to give a special shout out to my personal trainer/rehab therapist which he has been in my life for more than 6 years. Tim Hunter is not an ordinary trainer, but has been my mentor whom has guided me to be the best and has guided me to the next level of my fitness. Tim has his graduate degree and specializes in Physiology. He truly understands the human anatomy and how to change your body the fastest.

Although, when he took me on as a client it took longer to get me to my goals due to not being symmetrical, and he had to make sure that I was strong in a certain areas, before allowing me to get to the next level. This was important because he didn’t want me to get injured. Most trainers dont seem to realize that each person is different and they can’t train in a cookie cutter way. They need to want to get better and continue with their education and how the body works.

Tim has worked with professional athletes in his past, but in his stage of his career he only wants to help people who need to get better for health reasons and to prevent long term health issues or unnecessary surgeries. I feel, that most people don’t give him enough credit because he works at ā€œMountainsideā€ however, he could have a job anywhere at this point, but prefers to help is long term clients. He is passionate in what he does and it shows when he takes the time to study you case and goals.

With all this being said, Tim is the real deal because he is the one stop shop for rehab and he understands injuries. I pulled my quad when I tripped over something going into my house on Tuesday evening and I couldn’t even walk. He made time to help me in the morning to start evaluating my pull. I had a stage 1 tear/pull, but he kept compressing it and working around my area to help me get mobile again. He truly understands injuries and knows when you need to see a doctor, and when to not see one. He has been working on me since Wednesday, and I feel so well thus far. There is so much more to do, but thank goodness for all the knowledge he has fed me to be self aware that I needed to have someone push out the adema that I had on my superficial quad muscle and he knew hat only getting blood flow to the trauma area would heal my pull and make me feel better. If you ever need anything please consult my long term therapist/trainer Tim Hunter at the Indian...

I'm visiting my 60+ year old parents for a month in Arizona, and thought I'd join a reasonably priced gym nearby in order to continue training for powerlifting competitions. I was slightly annoyed by the "No Chalk" rule, and the lack of barbells with center knurling in the tiny, overcrowded power rack section, but I can handle it for a few weeks.

My mother has asked me to help her train the squat, bench press, press, and deadlift, to increase overall muscular and skeletal strength. So after my heavy 6am workouts, I pick her up and take her back to help coach her on these movements. I AM NOT A PAID TRAINER, ONLY ATTEMPTING TO HELP MY OWN MOTHER. The first day we were in there, they sent the biggest "trainer" they have in the building to come talk to me about what I was doing. He said for liability purposes, I had to go rep for rep, set for set with her. So be it. It's a minor annoyance, but I decided to comply the next session. The following session, he once again came up to me, and said that I had to do MY OWN working weights while working with her. This is not an option, as my working weights are relatively very heavy, and the person I train with early in the morning knows how to spot and work side-by-side with me - my 63 year old mother DOES NOT. I am appalled at the fact that I pay $45/month for this overcrowded gym, and I AM NOT ALLOWED TO HELP MY OWN MOTHER learn the basic compound movement - movements I am certain the "trainers" at the facility would not be teaching her.

I am convinced that this policy is more out of fear at the lost income for "functional fitness training" than it is for liability. The young man told me I WAS ANNOYING HIM because he had to keep approaching me.

I will be calling Mountainside to ask if there is any way to get this body-builder "functional fitness trainer" to stop harassing me while I coach my mother on movements that I am certain will benefit her...

This gym has no consideration for it’s customers. I have been attempting to work with the Scottsdale Pavilions location. I called to cancel my membership several months ago due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I sent a letter to the corporate office per the management’s instructions. I called to follow up to ensure the letter was received. At that point the manager waived my October membership fees to ensure I was not charged any longer. I was then charged again for November. I contacted management again and they are now claiming they never received a cancellation request at all and have no record of me calling to follow up. It is very disappointing that this business is attempting to deceive their customers and charge members who would be unsafe or unable to utilize gym facilities during this pandemic. With a lack of assistance from management I have been forced to contest the charge with my credit card company in order to resolve this issue. Please beware as this business is dishonest and will attempt to charge you regardless of engaging in a valid cancellation process.

I would like to add to this review. As per the response by the owner below, they requested I call them as they would be willing to help me. However, when I called them, they were not at all willing to help me. When I brought to their attention that my membership contract was up in October, they claimed that because they were closed for two months due to the pandemic, I would now be responsible to pay until December. I am in disbelief that this institution is engaging in not only despicable customer service but fraudulent activity as well. It is truly a shame that a business would act this way especially during the time of the covid-19 pandemic where many individuals are unable to use their facilities due to health concerns and just want to cancel their membership through a valid...
