Stay at your own risk. I recently stayed at the Comfort Suites Scottsdale @Talking Stick and unfortunately, my experience was far far far from satisfactory! The cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, clean, relaxing, and definitely without any comfort! Upon arrival, I immediately noticed a number of issues with the cleanliness of the room that greatly impacted my stay. I checked in early morning May 5th, for my reservation that began May 4th. For an entire week I planned to stay here! The reservation was for May 4th to May 10th, I checked out by May 6th!
Firstly, the room was not properly cleaned. The trash can was filthy, there were dust and debris everywhere, and the carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. Moreover, there was visible dirt and grime behind the refrigerator, along with what appeared to be graded cheese sprinkles. This is completely unacceptable and indicates a lack of following public health safety standards by the housekeeping.
Furthermore, I found trash left on the side of the dressers, suggesting that the cleaning staff had not thoroughly checked the room before my arrival. These oversights made me question the overall cleanliness and sanitation standards of the hotel. The manager, Erik Tafaya, stated he would give me 3 options, move to another room on another floor, receive 20% off my first night and have housekeeping clean the room, or to leave the hotel. Can you believe these were the options after interrupting my beautiful vacation stay in Scottsdale? I stayed at this hotel, around this same time last year along with other guests and my stay was amazing thus prompting my return this year! What a grave mistake I made. I was then so disappointed, and interfered with my trip itinerary when the room should have been initially cleaned prior to my arrival. I left the hotel, because the manager was unconcerned about the issue. I had to continue to remind him about my concerns, because he stated he would talk to the general manager, which never happened. Leaving this hotel in the middle of my stay was the best decision I could've made.
As a guest, you expect a certain level of cleanliness and hygiene, which unfortunately was not met during my stay at Comfort Suites Scottsdale @Talking Stick. You want to check in your home away from home, and unwind. You won't do that at here. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and implements necessary improvements to ensure a more pleasant experience for future guests.
I would not recommend staying at this hotel until significant improvements are made in terms of cleanliness. See...
Read moreBefore my March 2024 visit, I had enjoyed two pleasant stays at Comfort Suites Scottsdale at Talking Stick. However, my third stay in December 2023 left much to be desired. Upon arrival, the room was disappointingly unkempt: cookie crumbs littered the couch, the carpet appeared untouched by vacuum, and debris scattered the floor. The bathroom was particularly grimy, with hair strewn about. Given the circumstances, I opted for the room to be cleaned while we were present, rather than relocating after unpacking. The following morning, we discovered a significant water leak in the hallway adjacent to our room and promptly reported it. Despite efforts to rectify the situation, the disruption persisted, with workers LOUDLY addressing the issue for hours, and the water was turned off. To compound matters, a hotel staff member attempted to enter our room unannounced, a clear breach of privacy and etiquette. And yes, the "do not disturb" card was on the outside doorknob. Despite the inconvenience caused by these issues, especially being without water for many hours and the loud noise coming from the workers, no discount or compensation was offered. This lack of acknowledgment or accountability was disappointing, particularly considering my loyalty to the establishment.
During my March 2024 visit, my frustrations reached new heights. Despite splurging on an upgrade to a suite through an online travel agency, I arrived to find myself allocated a standard, cramped room. I was disappointed that I was not offered a reduced rate, since I paid more for the suite. Not only was this downgrade disappointing, but the cleanliness left much to be desired, prompting an extremely tiresome search (tried 4 rooms) for an acceptable alternative within the hotel. All of those rooms were filthy. Ultimately, I made the decision to seek accommodation elsewhere. Despite assurances of a refund, the hotel staff's lack of responsiveness to numerous attempts at contact through phone calls and emails from the online travel agency proved exasperating. Regrettably, this lack of communication resulted in the denial of the refund I had been promised.
In summary, my experiences at Comfort Suites Scottsdale at Talking Stick have been marred by subpar cleanliness, unprofessional conduct, and a lack of accountability. It's disheartening to see a hospitality establishment fail to uphold basic standards of cleanliness and customer service. Consequently, I cannot recommend this hotel to others, as it falls short of providing the safe and comfortable environment expected of such...
Read moreIt used to be my place to stay. Now the quality has dramatically reduced. The prices have escalated to much. It's become run down. They removed gluten free options for breakfast yet, required that I pay for it regardless of being allergic to wheat. My bathroom was not cleaned. My sheets were not clean. The bed was just made with some reddish brown stains on the sheets. There was long straight hair in the bathtub with a plastic bag closure. There was ashes in the sink as if someone was smoking in the bathroom. Although being a non smoker and didn't feel the room smelled like cigarettes, it was clearly ashes in the sink. The toilet paper was not folded, no toilet seat up or banded. There were plastic soap covers bunched up under the sink. I don't believe my restroom was cleaned at all. It was skipped over. Just a set of folded towels and the bed made. There was still ice cream left in the freezer from the prior people. When the front desk manager (Eric) contacted the GM and requested that gluten free be re-added to the breakfast menu, the gm stated, "He wasn't required to have that available." Well I'm not required to ever book nor stay in this hotel ever again either. This was my forth stay. Definitely will be my last. I paid $1400 for 1 room stay just 1 week. I could get a resort for that with a full sized kitchen to cook proper nutrition filled breakfast vs being given processed junk food options. I encountered 6 other people during my week stay with a gluten intolerance. A few of them told me they had nothing to eat, even the choice brand of oatmeal is not safe. It used to be gluten free, made in a pot. Now they just lay out cheap sugar filled not gluten safe packets. Even the only milk alternative is the loaded with sugar option. What's the point of ordering a healthier option if you choose the least healthiest option? So the only gluten free cereal is not an option either. It was poured all out mixed together on the counter anyways. Yes I have photos! When I approached the manager about my concerns, I was offered a redo cleansing in the bathroom on my last night of the week! Well I had already bought cleaning items and cleaned the restroom myself by then. I was not even compensated for the lack of anything. I have always chose this location because they allow my semi and it used to have gluten free options with clean rooms. I've seen this hotel from first opening till now. I've also seen the decline, Step down with each stay. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Nor will I...
