I just wanted to take a moment to commend one of your staff members. Back in July, I had the opportunity to work with Desiree Brown on a collections problem that we were having with Horizon BCBS. Desiree helped me navigate some confusion and provided me with the backup needed to pinpoint the dates of service and monies owed in our case.
Mistakes were made by the biller that I won't bore you with, and we were sent to collections! To avoid embarrassment or wage garnishment, I took the money out of our savings account to pay the balance to the attorneys, assuming that HBCBS would remunerate us for these funds.
When we discovered Monday that the checks were actually cashed, I called Desiree, who had been OVER THE TOP helpful back in July. She immediately offered to get on the phone with both me and HBCBS to get to the bottom of what happened. It seemed as if this case was going right to the insurance fraud department as no one had "signed" the checks. We were deflated, to say the least!
Flash forward to this morning...
Desiree discovered when and where the checks were cashed, emailed the provider, double checked our mailing address and those checks to return our hard earned savings will soon be on their way back to our bank.
