First time here on a Wednesday night and overall, it was just ok. Starting with the good, the atmosphere and décor of the place is amazing. Warm and cozy feeling upscale, yet casual.
Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered nachos to start. These were actually very good! It had regular cheese and a nice-tasting nacho cheese sauce mixed in. Nice portion too. Unfortunately that's where the great part of the evening ends..
For the mains, 2 of us ordered cheeseburgers medium-well done. They both came out medium rare. Another got a salad asked for dressing on the side and it came out covered in it. This is after the server read our order back to us, so it was no fault to him. The beef tasted just meh. Not very well-seasoned or anything great for the price point. Both said the fries were great, but that's about it. The house salad was ordered w/ added grilled chicken and for the price, it was pretty small and very basic overall. Other people in our group got the wrap, which they said was good and the salmon, which while it tasted fine and had a nice presentation, it was a small portion of fish. Service was also a bit slow overall given how late and empty it was on a weeknight.
The price of everything was way higher than the quality/quantity and does not match up. We would have tried the cocktails, but @ $16-17 each, we skipped them. The descriptions read like an elaborate fairytale, but were fairly basic. I feel like the place is trying to be a Houston's in style/price but misses the mark and is more akin to a Houlihan's (this is just for comparison). While it wasn't bad, it wasn't great and will not be in a rush to return. You can get good bar & grill food at much better prices in any...
Read moreI have never and will never try this place, due to the extremely unprofessional and unreliable individuals that run this establishment.
In May, my son met with the owner, Mr. Griffin, who offered him a job upon the restaurant's opening. This led him to stop searching for other opportunities, expecting to start at the end of June after high school graduation. He completed the necessary paperwork, including a W-4 form, and attended a training session upon Mr. Griffin's request. Unfortunately, upon arrival, he was informed that Mr. Griffin was no longer with the restaurant and no one was aware of the scheduled training. Despite this, the bar manager, Jason, asked him to come back for "PAID" training on another day. My son attended the training session and was told he did well. Jason assured him that he would reach out once he figured out the schedule. Once again my son filled out another W-4 form (unnecessarily).
Weeks passed with no communication. Finally, Jason contacted him through text message for yet another meeting, seemingly to determine his suitability, despite the previous offer. This, after my son had already invested time and completed training. When my son inquired about a guaranteed job offer, Jason simply did not send a response back.
This entire process demonstrates a complete disregard to a young man's time and effort. He was not compensated for the training day and was ultimately left without a job.
I hope this serves as a cautionary tale for other potential employees considering your establishment. And for those reading this review, do not support...
Read moreI made a 6:45 PM reservation online for the same day. When we arrived, the hostess seated us between two crowded tables. The noise level was overwhelming (my husband could barely hear himself think. We asked our waitress if we could move, and she told us to speak with the hostess. When my husband politely asked the hostess if he could speak with her after she finished seating another party, she agreed, but then continued seating other guests. By the time we finally got her attention again, all the tables were full. We were moved to a high-top table, which was uncomfortable for our kids (ages 6 and 9). Our 6-year-old could barely get on the stool.
The food was also disappointing. The calamari was soggy instead of crispy, and the portions felt smaller than before. When a glass of water spilled on the table, no one came to clean it up.
Overall, this experience was a big step down from our visit last year. The quality of both food and service has declined. On top of that, the new payment system (where the server stands over you while you tip... felt awkward and tacky). I really want to support local businesses, but with the higher prices and declining quality, I don’t think we’ll...
