The PACE Center auditorium is excellent. That's where it ends. We had our daughter's dance recital there recently. Here are the things we had to deal with: There was a person working on the lighting and this person literally was rude to work with. His job was managing the lighting BUT he came back to artists lounge and private rooms to check to see if we are cooking anything...beats me why he was doing that. We had to politely report this person to the manager incharge. She promised she would address The PACE Center has contractors for providing food and they will NOT budge to change that to bring others who can provide the food you want. In fact I was told by one of the manager to go train the contracted vendor and show them how to cook the food you want. BTW, these contractors have to pay 10% of the total food order back to the PACE center. Why does a government entity do that...i don't know? Here comes the best part: On the day of the event, the audio for the live orchestra started malfunctioning. It was pretty bad as the Mike's would turn off when the orchestra was singing. This is during a live event. Thus we had to put a break and fix the whole thing. This extended the event to another hour and a half. We reserved the event room after the dance performance for our daughters birthday party. Since the dance got extended by an hour and a half due to audio malfunction we requested an extension of the event room by an hour since we will start late. The PACE Center program coordinator that day gave us verbal approval for the extension at no further cost. Again this is due to the delay caused by the horrible audio malfunction during the live event. Now the PACE center facilities coordinator is charging us for the 1 hour extension and is NOT respecting the verbal communication made by the Program coordinator. She insists that she would charge for the extension. PACE center is NOT cheap and the people working there especially the facilities coordinator is making this experience a nightmare for us.
So in summary, if you want to deal with such people and go thru a nightmare experience PACE Center is all for you. At the end of the day after paying close to $7000 they are not easy to work with and you don't get treated like this and have an experience like this. I am sorry, if anyone asks me about this place my answer would be " Stay away if you can from this place and go spend it anywhere else where they are nicer and easier to work with". Very sorry to post this...
Read moreI purchased tickets about two weeks ago for the relaxed performance of Mary Poppins for my daughter and I. She is autistic, and I was hoping that this would be an adaptive environment that she would feel comfortable at. Unfortunately, We received an email three days before the show was supposed to be happening. I had to tell my daughter that we were no longer going to see a show that she had been looking forward to for about two months since we saw an advertisement. This also happens to be the night where the tickets are half the price that they normally are because it is a dress rehearsal performance. When I did ask to get a refund for the tickets, It was given promptly. I called her earlier and asked about us attending another night of the show, even though it was not the one we originally intended to attend. Every other night is nearly completely sold out, and there are no two seats where you can buy a ticket next to each other. This would not be a viable option because I cannot sit apart from my five-year-old daughter. I am hesitant to ever attend a show here because of how atrocious the situation was for my daughter and I. They seem like a case of poor planning on the part of the venue. I know that this was not an intentional thing at all, but that doesn’t make it less disappointing. Please consider this if you are going to offer a show like this to the...
Read moreI wish I could give this a better review. We had our wedding here and while it was the best day of my life and my husband and I had an amazing time, it wasn't because of the venue. It was a beautiful venue with a great view, so if that is what you are looking for this is a good place for you. However, the wedding coordinator we worked with was a nightmare. If we had a question about our wedding we wouldn't hear back from anyone for a week to two weeks, which makes planning a wedding very stressful. We worked with one coordinator for the entire planning process but we found out that there was going to be a different person for the day of, not a big deal but we didn't even meet them until the day before at the rehearsal. I never once saw him the day of and he never once asked if there was anything we needed or if he could help with anything. We also found out shortly after our month out meeting that there was going to be another wedding party coming the day of our wedding to rehearse for their wedding the next day. My family had to set up around them while making sure they weren't in their way. Again, it wouldn't have been a big deal but I wasn't given much time to plan for that. After everything was said and done, we ended up paying the same amount we would have paid for an actual wedding venue that came with a wedding coordinator, sometimes I wish we...
