This is an Indian grocery store and it's the best one I've been to in NJ in the past 25 years that I've been living here. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the small takeout joint in the store which was a disappointment. The grocery store is clean, spacious, well maintained and well stocked. A great place to get all kinds of Indian groceries such as spices, vegetables, grains etc. Common veggies are priced better here than in the typical grocery store such as Shoprite. Special mention... the frozen food section is huge! If you want to get something quick for cheap this is a good place to get it Some of the entrees are pretty decent and are better than the junk served in a few restaurants nearby. Except for some frozen entrees, the rest of the food in the entire store is pretty much vegetarian. Now for the small take out place inside that was recently opened. The prices seemed quite steep but I was tempted to give it a try. The sugar cane juice was tepid and overpriced but it brought back some 'cheruku rasam' memories of child hood. What is the point of serving it warm? The kathi roll was all wrong. I ordered a panneer roll and again asked them before picking it up and they !still! packed an aloo roll. For a limp roll with aloo masala stuffing it was waay over priced. I also ordered 2 ragda samosa chats which were average at best. 5 stars for the store, 1 star for the eatery makes it 3...
Read moreI recently moved to New Jersey. First of all I donât want to even one start to this grocery store. Once I bought $5 watermelon. I came home and tried to cut it by knife. After opening it I found the wantermon was completely rotten. I went back to store second day. The lady at the register refused to take watermelon because âno return on vegetables and fruits writtenâ I told her that how can I know the watermelon is not eatable or not without opening it. She was still refusing to exchange it. So I got angry and asked her for talk with owner or supervisor. I met the owner and told him whole story. Then he told me to exchange only one time not the second time. I said ok. Then second time after one week I went to this store for grocery again. I bought â Vadilal Kaju- Drakshâ ice cream. After coming home tried to eat ice cream. I am shocked because It taste like spoiled Ice cream and smell bad. Then I found that it is already expired month before. I went back to store again. They told me to exchange it. When I went to get same ice cream I found that 70% of the different flavored ice creams had been expired!!!! Furthermore, I found âRajgira Ladduâ( Indian Snack) didnât taste good. Surprisingly it was expired!!! So my experience with this store was very bad. The staff over there behave rudely. No...
Read moreA stupid cashier discouraged me to shop this store ever again. I don't have her name. Here is the transaction # 00681-001-0009 on 5:28pm 1/7/2024 if the store manager wants to dig the case deeper.
I was ready to use my credit card to pay at checkout. I can insert my card into machine anytime before the cashiers finish ringing everything in ANY OTHER SUPERMARKET. I just CANâT do the same thing in this store. The cashier keeps stopping me and found me annoying because I had no clue she wasnât finished even it looked like she was done. It turned out she double scanned my last item.
Her English is very hard to understand with heavy accent. She kept telling me how to use my credit card. There are THREE options on the machine - insert, swipe and tap. I mostly use my credit card by insetting since my credit card has a chip so I wanted to insert my card into machine. She kept saying Indian-English and tried to stop me. I couldnât understand her. I didnât get it WHY I couldnât. She then grabbed my card roughly and tapped on the machine. She made me look like an idiot in front of shoppers behind me.
The truth is she insisted TAPPING ONLY on the machine that offers three options. WHO IS AN IDIOT...
