I went online to find a file cabinet with very specific height dimensions, and after looking everywhere else, decided to look at Office Depot, where I found what I was looking for and purchased online.
I was notified it would be ready for pick up five minutes later, and I received a $10 discount for picking it up in person.
When I arrived, I headed straight in towards the middle of the store, where I figured they may have some Fireproof Document "Safes", I could look at.
I was greeted by store by employee Danny, who was walking the opposite direction, so I asked him if there were any fireproof document safes, which he pointed me to.
After obtaining a shopping carting from the front of the store for the document safe, I was looking at an end aisle display at a couple hard drives. Danny happened to be walking from up front towards the back and asked me again if there was anything he could help me with. I asked him if the store had any other hard drives I could look at. He walked me to the hard drives section.
Before he walked away I showed him my In Store Order Pickup slip and asked him if I should give it to him, or wait until I went to the front counter to buy the safe and hard drive. He looked at my paper, the item type, my name and said, "I'll get it ready for you and it will be at the checkout when your ready". I thanked him again.
When I got to the check out, Danny came to the front to assist the cashier in retrieving the hard drive I was purchasing from the store closet, then dollied out the file cabinet to my vehicle to help me load the safe and file cabinet. I hadn't said anything, but I had previously hurt my shoulder doing some work a few weeks earlier and had been concerned about loading the file cabinet alone. So not having to ask, was a really big positive for this particular shopping experience.
My past experiences with the store at this location, had been unimpressive and had led me to making my office and business purchases at a competitor across town whenever possible for the past ten years.
Even though I believe their competitor has a better floor layout and generally friendlier employees, as well as more employees, I have to admit, I never had this kind of customer service or assistance at the competitor before. Read moreThe reason I'm giving this store 1 star is because of bad printing customer service by this man named luke. Unfortunately for me I walked in when he happened to be waiting in customers at the print shop. I came in to have business cards printed. I asked for them to be printed asap and he said the store would take 7 days. I figure what the heck, I'm already here, so I placed the order. I came back and asked for them the following week and nobody knew anything about my printing order. I showed my receipt to the people behind the counter and no one could find even a trace of the order. I left my name and number and they made a copy of my receipt so they could ask luke when he got in. When I came in the next day, no one had any answers as to where my order was. So they created a sort of a poster in an 8 1/2 by 11 inch copy paper with the copy of the receipt printed on it and two messages stapled right on that same paper with my name and number clearly written on there so luke could call me asap and wouldn't you know it, I never got a cal. I came in again, on the 8th day only to find luke waiting on a customer with the paper the other staff members had printed out with the copy of my receipt and the stickies stapled on the paper 3 feet away from luke and of course, I never got a call. Another young man had to come over after greeting me at the door earlier, to ask if I had gotten my business cards yet and I said nope, nothing yet, so he set out to look everywhere and finally!, he found the box somewhere under a counter. This young man said he left the box on top of the counter along with the copy of the receipt and the stickies ready for me to pick up and someone removed them and placed them elsewhere so as to waste my time once again. I wonder if that was luke, nobody else was around. I'm so mad about this I won't be coming back to this store. I look for customer service everywhere I go, restaurants, department stores, even food trucks, this store dropped the ball when they hired luke. In 48 hours I never got a courtesy call. Read moreI do not know how to review this store because the experience from associate to associate varied so drastically. My transaction started over the phone with a print job and the gentleman on the phone named Chris could not have been kinder more patient or more accommodating. In fact, he even got my print job done early, which wasn’t even a request of mine. I had to pick up my print job and I was greeted by a different associate who really didn’t care that I was there at all. 🙃 Finally, I wanted to photocopy my print job. I stood at the photocopy machines for probably about 20 minutes trying to get an associates attention for help. A young woman stopped over and I asked her for help and she said “well first of all you’re doing it wrong.“ I am nearly 50 years old. I do not need to be scolded that I do not know how to use an out of date, copy machine in a dirty old store in Pasadena by an associate who’s clearly miserable at her job. I just need my copies and a smile with them would be nice, but also not mandatory so long as I don’t get attitude. I was absolutely shocked and said never mind. I will leave and take my business elsewhere because I cannot tolerate such rudeness. At that point, I realized I really had no idea where I was and I had to finish the job here so I said never mind and she got a different associate and she told me it was you know because you know we’ll have problems.
