Afters Ice Cream — Restaurant in Pasadena

Used to be good, in their earlier days. Really sad how they have turned. Now such a hassle to order and price went up so much. And acting so hip with less service. Why so hip when you are just selling an ice-cream? Just serve the ice-cream. Lately, we visited to get the ice-cream. Wanted to get a hand-scooped ice-cream (pint) with toppings, as they have putted on their menu. However, suggests to take the pre-packed ice-cream with toppings on the side. We asked, why can't you scoop the ice-cream now with toppings (which follows what's written on their menu) from the ice-cream bucket next to you. Though, keep refusing that they can only scoop to the smallest cup available. Asked again, what does anything have to do with that can't scoop from the bucket to a cup size we want. Refused again saying it's a policy. They why do you guys have hand-scooped pint on the menu? Just doesn't make sense and really a terrible experience just for an ice-cream. Really, terrible. Change your policy. We want scoop ice-cream. And lastly, they charged a hand-scooped price for the pre-packed price (AND they don't top the ice-cream, opened it and it's 90%. You guys up-ed the price than don't reduce the amount). Horrible. Well, good luck in your business. Sad to see how business can change from how it...

So excited that Afters opened WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE. AMAZE.

PARKING: Street and small lot. By small, I mean like 3 cars. Don't worry, there's plenty of street parking.

FOOD: -Milky bun: If this is your first time at afters, you must get the milky bun, Don't forget the toppings. Jasmine milk tea is a favorite for me, but I also like the cookie monster. You have the option of glazed or unglazed - probably better to opt for the less sugar. -Ice Cream: I ordered Jasmine Milk Tea with fruity pebbles. Ice cream was incredibly creamy, and it has this strange kind of bounce to it that I can't explain very well. $4 for a single scoop is a bit steep, so I'd opt for the milky bun next time as there's so much more value for the extra $2 (not to mention each topping is an additional $0.50 with the ice cream alone!).

SERVICE: The line moved pretty quickly, and people received their orders within 5 minutes. Pretty efficient! It's strange that their only door is the same door from which they take your order, so there were employees walking in and out to refill stock.

I usually have a good time coming here but yesterday was not it. The customer service from the two girls working the afternoon shift was absolutely trash. Me and my friend showed up and they are chatting with their backs towards us. The tv was off and I thought it was closed. I asked 3 times if they are open and they were too busy chatting and laughing to hear me. One of the girls had her headphones on. Finally they notice we are there and I had to ask them to turn the tv on so we can see the flavours. We asked for a double scoop but also my friend wants to eat an dry icecream cone so we said double scoop in a cup and just a waffle cone to eat dry. The girl confirms and still gave us the wrong thing. It’s actually a bit ridiculous considering we were the only ones there was no excuse for these types of mistakes. They didn’t take their jobs seriously and it’s a terrible look for the brand. At the end of the day the ice cream was good but You don’t expect to be a customer and feel like you’re bothering the staff by asking them to...
