Lol (longer than expected) passionate review incoming because I was excited to go here and was very let down:
Iām genuinely shocked by all of the good reviews for this place. This was the first time an Instagram ad has ever worked on me and Iām a huge F1 and go kart fan (K1 speed) so I figured it was absolutely worth making the hour long drive for! We made a 2pm appointment (right when they open) and got there 10 min early as instructed.
When we walked in, we were quickly checked in and then told to stand to the side until it was time to be briefed. After a few minutes, we were given a ~90 second rundown on the controls and then told to wait until we saw our names on a screen. After a few minutes, we each had a screen and were told to jump on.
After this point, we were not in contact with the staff for the rest of our visitā¦. There was never any requests for input or asking if we had questions. We did the typical practice session, qualifying and 2 races, but there was ZERO communication in between or during each event. It was never clear when we were going to finish, what cars we were ādrivingā, or what event we were on. There was legitimately zero contact. The āgameā had a timer that would count down, but then would end without warning before the timer hit 0 so we were always on edge about when our last lap would be.
We had several people in our party who had different items on their display screen as well. Speedometer, gear indicator, etc. and only noticed it when 70% done. They mustāve heard him complaining about it and turned it on for him, but it was disappointing that all of the sims werenāt configured the same way from the beginning. Also, when I was halfway through my 2nd or 3rd event, they mustāve realized that some of the features on my setup werenāt ON because they enabled some more things that made it a tiny bit more realistic in the middle of one of my eventsā¦. Only slightly distracting to have the environment change right as youāre adaptingā¦
It was also extremely disappointing that they, not even onceā¦. asked if we asked any questions once our session started. There were only 5 of us total there, so they were far from busy, but maybe there have been customers in the past who think they are Gods at driving and donāt want to be bothered once in session. I tried turning around a few times to see if I could see any staff to ask questions to, but was afraid to get up from the chair because it wasnāt being communicated when each of our events were startingā¦
Overall, this place has massive potential. It couldāve been a ton of fun, had an actual customer experience been present in any way. . I would say the customer experience needs to be refined, but there was zero customer experience at all. We paid, and then were thrown into our computer area for the next hour and not spoken to again. Except once, I decided to test out the āresetā button to start again from the pits, but then I clipped the wall on my way out of the pit lane and the worker came over and said āha, I think you hit that on accidentā. Lol, thanks man. Watching when I hit something but not when I actually need a hand⦠I was expecting to be immensely humbled by the sim setup, and was, but wasnāt expecting to be humiliated by the person I wanted help from as well. Lol.
We paid the $50 for the āproā setup and I regret it, as the single screen setups looked smoother and divisions in the screens on the pro setup were distracting⦠save yourself the $10 and get the regular one. They seem to be equally realistic as well so thereās no point.
If this place survives a few years and they hire some folks who are passionate about the whole experience, Iād love to come back, but right now⦠I would not recommend it to anyone. I wouldāve much rather spent the $50 on a driving video game or at an arcade where I could drive and have some kind of input into...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am an F1 and FD fan and thought it would make total sense to throw my birthday at World of Racing.
Because I was organizing my event there, they extended a discount on the Wedensday Race Academy. I decided to do the Academy session first to get used to the Sim rig, and I was so glad that I did. I don't get motion sickness at all in my day-to-day and have never gotten sick on an airplane. However, just a minute on the rig with the 3-screen setup had me dizzy and very nauseous.
I kept calling him "Brandon" but I am seeing other reviews call him "Bradley" (Yikes! What being dizzy and ready to blow chunks will do! Sorry I messed up your name!!!) was an absolute sweetheart. He kept checking in on me and even told me a white lie when I asked if I still looked green around the gills. I was as white as a sheet when I finally looked in a mirror that night. So technically, not a lie but I still hadn't shaken the dizziness.
On my birthday, I was prepared and took non-drowsy Dramamine and was a super happy camper. The racing was amazing and my entire group had a really good time. There are tables and chairs, where my revelers sat and talked smack.
Definitely going to go back and support a local business. This was an amazing experience that honestly makes one respect the pros because what they do is well harder than most give them any credit for.
Special thanks to Donovan, Ryan, Nacho and Chris as well for making this one of the best birthdays I've had in a long minute.
And I am sorry for butchering the name Bradley/Brandon. I appreciate you! You made the experience 1000% better! And I did not yak on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here with a group of friends for my 30th birthday and had an awesome time. The staff was super chill and easy to talk to. I coordinated with Bradley ahead of time and he was really helpful in setting things up for our group.
If youāre planning an event, definitely ask them about the different packages. It helps figure out what works best for your budget and group size. Theyāve also got a couple booth tables in the back which worked out great for a quick pizza break.
The space itself has a cool vibe. Itās dark inside which adds to the whole racing atmosphere. Everything felt well taken care of.
The simulators were solid. Way more immersive than I expected. Theyāve got the Pro rigs with triple screens and also Esports setups with a big ultra-wide monitor. I liked that we could book a private session and all be on the same track. Voice chat was on too so we were able to talk some trash and mess around while racing.
I drove a Nissan R35 for one race and a formula car for the other. If youāre like me and donāt already have a dream car in mind, maybe think about it before you go. Makes picking quicker.
I didnāt expect to sweat, but honestly the steering and motion felt so real I was working harder than I thought.
Highly recommend checking this place out. The price may seem high, but if youāre into racing or just want to try something new with friends, itās totally worth it. The staff really seems to care about the experience, and it shows through their...
