Actually I think I was too harsh giving 2 stars. Going for 3. Owner responded fast. And I actuallt like the pool/sauna.
I wish there were numbered racks... even a sharpie written in ones would probably increase order, and if employees did rounds reracking weights. Also would like to see spray bottles with cleansers instead of the pumps planet fitness style. And more cleaning stations. new con. There are like no pretty girls that go here that I can tell :( lots of older people.
I go to a lot of gyms in the area. PF, dynamic, anytime fitness, ufc gym and now 24hr fitness. I started at this gym and have visited 5 times now for 2-3 hr workout sessions each. Here sre my thoughts so far.
Pros. Place is big. Large variey of machines.
Cleaner bathrooms. So far everytime ive gone into the bathrooms there wasnt a big smell snd everything seemed clean enough.
Lots of waterfountains and bathrooms While the water fountains arent that cold... they seem to he working unlike dynamic fitness that has 2 water fountains and one of the fountains has been broken for over a year. (Dec 2023 to present).
There are bathrooms on opposite sides of the gym. With a small one for the pool.
Cons. Dirty, machines members do not care to wipe down equipment as there arent that many stations and the supplied cleaner sucks to get out of the dispenser. Staff dont seem to clean either. Was there for 3 hours recently and all trash cans were full and no staff member tool out any of them. They were full when I got in.
Weights everywhere. Staff and members do not put weights away from either machines or back to the racks. A lot lf weights are left on the floors and the racks arent numbered for the dumbbells to be placed back. You have to go searching for weights and honestly there arent that many of them.
Weights part 2. A lot of the plates are mixed matched and honestly they are difficult to put back because they stick to the pole they go onto.
Crowded. I go kid day but its already kinda crowded and on sunday mornings. Which srent peak times. Id be worried to go there afternoon... but i havnt seen it myself yet.
Price This location only offers gold and platinum memberships but remove the silver memberships most 24hr fitness have. Silver monthly fee is about 20$ a month. Gold is 30$. Platinum 40$. Silver gives access to 1 location. That they dont have it. Gold is state access. Platinum is national.
Lack of variety for the matrixe grips. They dont have v bars and some other common attachments. They have mostly a ton of straight bars but they...
Read moreI would avoid this gym like the plague. I have a 24 hour membership for about 6 years now and I've been to over a dozen throughout Houston while traveling for work. This is definitely the saddest excuse for a Super Sport. In fact there was nothing indicating it was online or even outside on the signage. I came here for a few weeks early in the morning and always checked in getting an error. There was no front desk person present on the multiple occasions I came. A few times the girl was there but she was too busy on her phone or talking to friends to acknowledge me so I just worked out anyways. Well today I decided to approach her (she seemed annoyed because she was in the middle of a conversation with her girlfriends). I kindly asked why I was getting the error. Long story short she absolutely denied I workout and was adamant I had already had multiple "courtesy" workouts at the location. That was news to me since I'd never even been acknowledged ever at this location lol! Anyways, she said I could either upgrade my membership but wouldn't be able to until a manager or sales person was in OR I could pay 25 dollars for the day. So I left and went to powerhouse gym in Freeport. I understand 24 hour fitness has policies about different level gyms. But this specific location is seriously lacking anything to be considered a "Super Sport" and doesn't even have it stated anywhere online or at the location. The staff is extremely dismissive and doesn't care. And on top of all that it doesn't pay to be honest and step in to see what's going on. Next time I'll just walk...
Read more24 hour fitness has deep cleaned the men's locker room. The smell and mold has disappeared from the locker room. The gym seems nicer compared to my visit three years prior to this experience. 24 hour fitness corp experiences budgetary issues. They removed more aerobic machines since the last gym renovation in 2024. They replaced the machines with the fake football turf that other 24 hour fitness facilities employ. I don't use the fake football turf. Do they think that members won't notice the lack of aerobic equipment? Most notably, the Epic by Freemotion stretching machines has been removed. The gym offers the Freemotion lifting and stretching machines. The main area of the gym offers air conditioning. 24 Hour fitness removed the A/C from operating in the TRX lab and the aerobics room when no classes are present. Why? You should make sure the entirety of the gym offers air conditioning. In addition, the air conditioning in the basketball court seems weaker than the air conditioning in the main area. (I did not use the pool and sauna areas.) In the past, 24 Hours fitness Pearland used to be 24 Hour fitness Lance Armstrong gym. lance armstrong's name no longer decorates the gym. I give credit to the gym management for the replaced countertops in the men's washroom and cleanliness of the men's locker room. The gym management has closed its doors at 8 PM on Friday's Saturday's and Sunday's. I wish the gym is 24 hour fitness at all hours. Edit: I appreciate the gym owner's feedback for this gym. This location represents the cleanest 24 Hour Fitness in the Greater...
