Next stop on the Bánh Mì express I've been on is in Paris. Paris Bánh Mì to be exact.
Although, two completely different types of sandwiches, I found it interesting that it's right next to a Jersey Mike's.
My first impression of the restaurant was that it is exceptionally clean and organized. It was not very busy when I went in and it was really laid back and quiet with soft music playing. I took my time looking around the baked goods displayed as well as the snacks that were on the shelves.
After browsing for a bit, I decided to order. I ordered a bánh mì chay (vegetarian) and bánh mì gà xé (shredded chicken). I also ordered a ca phê sữa đá and a few pastries.
Just keep in mind that chay (veggie) doesn't necessarily mean tofu, which I incorrectly assumed. I was totally fooled by the veggie based "meat" in the bánh mì chay. After staring at it for a bit, I asked the owner, I believe ( she was definitely in charge) about it. In my broken tiếng việt and with the assistance of another worker, I asked her about the meat because I assumed it would be tofu. She explained that it was plant based and I dug in. I want to thank her for being so patient and gracious with my questions. I appreciate good, engaging service.
It tasted great. I was surprised to see that the bánh mì was thinner but longer than most I've had before. The bread was not as crispy as I personally prefer but it still had a good flavor and texture. The veggies tasted fresh and the veggie "meat" tasted good.
The bánh mì gà xé was also good. The shredded chicken had a good texture and was not too dry. The bánh mì and veggies tasted fresh too.
The ca phê sữa đá was very good and surprisingly large. It tasted very good and wasn't too sweet. I really enjoyed it.
The pastries were very good as well.
I can see that by everything from the decoration of the restaurant and the packaging of the food that Paris Bánh Mì is a very professional establishment with good food and great service. I cannot wait to return and try some...
Read moreThis is my second time stopping by for the Vietnamese sandwich, and while the food and drinks are good, I still need to leave a 1-star review due to the behavior of the female cashier wearing glasses. The first time I visited, she had the same cold attitude but I forgave it. However, on my second visit, her attitude was still the same. She didn’t say hi when I approached or thank me after I placed my order. Her attitude felt cold and unwelcoming, giving off the impression that she wasn’t happy to be there and was frustrated with the customers. It’s a shame because the food is good, but I think the store should address this issue and provide better training to their staff to improve customer service. UPDATE 1 After posting my review, I noticed several positive reviews appeared shortly afterward, which felt a bit suspicious. Instead of addressing customer feedback and improving the issues raised, it seems like the focus is on burying the 1-star reviews. I would encourage others to be cautious when considering their overall ratings, as this approach may not reflect the true customer experience. UPDATE 2 The owner mentioned they’ve already addressed my previous review, but this is actually my first time leaving feedback. I’m not sure why they’re...
Read moreI have to say waiting as long as I did today was very discouraging. On top of that, what really made me write this review was the fact that my order was made last out of everyone else who I ordered before and I had a simple order to begin with. This place is usually on top of it, but not this time around. Let's see if they can turn this review around the next time I come in being that I occasionally drop by here.
Edit: I used to frequent this place a few years ago when they first opened, but not anymore. Staff has changed at least 3-5 times over the past couple of years from what I’ve noticed. I appreciate the addition of new food items. However, it seems they’ve increased the threshold of points needed in their loyalty rewards program on the clover app in which customers must now reach 500 points in order to redeem for a $5 discount which used to be redeemable after every 100 points. Therefore, changes like these along with how their banh mi used to be made versus now doesn’t really seem to make the place very much appealing to come to anymore. Although their food and drinks are ok, the place almost feels like an afterthought. Paris Banh Mi to be a 5, but now they’re probably a...
