I wanted to try out this new location due to some FB adds I had seen. The food was good but the “experience” was very uncomfortable.
With in a few seconds of walking in I was asked to give a 5 star Google review in exchange for a free drink. I thought this was odd and politely declined but the person working the counter seemed surprised, like I was the only one to ever turn down the free drink, and aggressively pressed the issue reaching out for my phone saying “it’s easy, I can do it for you in just a few seconds.” I again declined. The person delivering the food then asked “did you want to leave a 5 Star Google review for free drinks” once again. I inquired as to how I could leave a review when all I had done thus far was to place my order. This exchange was overheard by the first aggressive worker who chimed in “it’s easy, we can do it on your phone for you… it takes just 5 seconds.” I asked “I don’t know what you’re going to say on the review… how does that even work?” to which she replied “oh, you can just change it later if you don’t like what we write.” We went back and forth on the issue until it became apparent I was not going to be pressured into giving the immediate review.
So, here is my review, which is honest, written by me, and not bought for the price of $.04 of soda.
Food- tasty. I got the Burria Tacos which were flavorful and juicy. I’m not a huge fan of pickle flavors so the pickled onions were not really for me but the food was good.
Price- a bit high. I had the 3 tacos which was $15 without a drink (on principle) or sides. That’s a good bit higher than pretty much any Mexican restaurant’s lunch menu.
Location- parking is terrible since the new Starbucks ate up all of the parking lot. But once inside, the tables were all freshly cleaned and it’s a nice atmosphere.
Service- well, the whole review thing certainly put a damper on that. It was just so over the top. Everyone that came in was hammered with the same pressure. Even those picking up to-go orders. In a world that relies heavily on Google reviews, I can confidently say that they are gaming the system. Unfortunately, so many of the reviews are bogus which is misleading to the public. That’s too bad since it’s actually good food and they would likely get good reviews organically if they just let it happen. As for me, I don’t like the manipulation tactics and feeling such heavy pressure to participate...
Read moreWas wondering how this place has so many high reviews and it just opened. Pretty much everyone that walks in the door is offered a free drink with their meal if they write a review. Obviously, this is taking place before they get their food and are leaving a high review to get a free drink. Most ppl that leave a review, good or bad, are not going back to alter their reviews. Any review that mentions a staff name is one requested for the drink. They made it very clear that that was a requirement for the free drink.
On to my experience. I wrote a high review initially too, because I wanted a drink. I ordered the 3 taco Birria meal.
The food is impossibly bland. I don’t know how something that appears to be so flavorful could be so flavorless. The tacos just taste like oil with a little hint of the topping they add to them. Then I thought maybe the flavors in the soup/consume' for the taco, nope, as bland as the meat in the taco.
So, I finished my meal still hungry and disappointed, walked next door to Main Bird which just opened. The place looked to be owned by the same owner/company as Dripped Birria. I confirmed it is and almost didn’t eat there because of it. I decided to give it a shot and had the chicken wrap. It was great and no false review was asked for. I just went back to Main Bird for dinner tonight.
I may never go back to Dripped Birria based off my last experience. Maybe I’ll give it a shot since it’s new and they may need to work out some kinks and refine things, but the fact that they are collecting good reviews before ppl dine kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Figuratively...
Read moreThis was my first time here and I was not pleased with my food or service at all. First off, my meal was suppose to come with a side of rice and I did not recieve any at all. I wasn't told that it was out (as I read from the kiosk when looking at other sides) I just wasn't told or offered the option. The birria meat on the tacos was scalding hot but yeah the cheese inside was not melty at all. My partner ordered the quesadilla and her food wasn't even warm. The cheese wasn't melted, it was just stuffed with lukewarm meat. I asked for no onions or pickled onions on my plates and I was still given those items. Customer service was basically non existent aside from handing over a drink cup. The only thing that was even decent was the birria ramen and I can only assume it's because it takes minimal effort to prepare this item. The decor was this places only saving grace but only that can get you so far. The flavor of the food in general was lackluster, especially for the prices that we paid for just three people. I was looking forward to trying this place out for years and was extremely disappointed in my choice. I will not be returning or recommending this...
