I’ve been to this salon a few times and had my nails done by Yani (she’s amazing!). Every time I’ve visited, there’s been a different receptionist. The first time I went, I booked one of the luxe pedicures, which came with a paraffin treatment. I’d never had that done before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. When it was time to pay, I asked about the paraffin treatment and realized my nail tech had forgotten to do it (not a big deal). The receptionist, Alyssa, was nice about it and charged me for a regular gel pedicure instead. She assured me they would include the paraffin treatment for free during my next appointment. I asked her what I should say when booking next time, and she said to just explain the situation.
A few weeks later, I went back to get a manicure with Yani and to book a follow-up appointment for my pedicure with the paraffin treatment. I explained the situation to a different receptionist to make sure the treatment would still be comped, and she confirmed that it would. We even spoke about it at length because I wanted to be absolutely sure everything would be okay.
On the day of my pedicure, I walked into the salon to find an entirely new group of receptionists. One of them, Mia, was immediately loud and intrusive. As I was talking to my nail tech about which color to choose, Mia interjected herself into the conversation from the other end of the room, asking what was going on. Her behavior was obnoxious, and she was overly nosy with other clients as well. The client sitting next to me also didn’t really like her.
When it was time to pay, I asked for a breakdown of the charges, and they included the paraffin treatment in the total. I explained the situation again to yet another receptionist, but Mia rudely inserted herself into the conversation. She told the other receptionist to call the previous receptionists to verify the story, all while speaking with an attitude. I called my nail tech over to confirm the situation since she was present at my earlier appointments. She explained everything, but Mia still handled it rudely. At one point, she hung up on Alyssa, thinking the issue was resolved, only to call her back after realizing it wasn’t.
Mia then called the owners and began speaking dismissively about me, still with an attitude. If you’re looking for a “kiss-up” puppy, Mia is your girl. She even started ratting out Alyssa to the owner, claiming Alyssa should never have made the promise in the first place. Eventually, the owner’s daughter, Ana, arrived for her reception shift and tried to de-escalate the situation. She told Mia it wasn’t a big deal and reassured me they would honor the comped treatment. She was really nice about it too.
Even then, Mia continued chatting with the owner on the phone, badmouthing me in front of everyone. Ana tried to get Mia to end the call and get Mia to stop, but Mia refused. She finally said, “Oh, well, there’s nothing that can be done now—she already paid.” Honestly, her behavior was disgustingly rude. I’ve worked as a receptionist at a nail salon before, and I would never have acted like that in front of a client.
In the past few weeks, I’ve told my family and friends about this salon and how much I liked Yani’s work. While they thought the salon was pricey, I explained that it was comparable to other places, especially considering rising costs. However, I’ve now messaged all of them to share what happened with Mia and told them not to visit this salon anymore.
The paraffin treatment itself wasn’t a huge deal—it’s the way Mia handled the situation that upset me. She displayed microaggressions. She was rude and dismissive to my nail tech, who primarily speaks Spanish, seemingly because she was speaking Spanish. Mia clearly has a superiority complex and thinks she’s better than everyone else.

Read moreOkay, so I have to tell you about Level Nail Lounge because it was such a good experience. First off, this was after I had called Polish Lounge in Davie and experienced the most severe attitude for the second time—I couldn’t even keep my appointment and just hung up the phone. So, coming here was such a refreshing change.
When you go to a nail salon, you really want to feel taken care of. I work in an emergency department, so my hands are constantly in use, and it means a lot to have someone who actually knows what they’re doing. Yani was amazing—funny, sweet, and even though she spoke Spanish and I spoke English, we just made it work. That’s South Florida for you! People speak all kinds of languages, so you either figure out how to communicate with hands, feet, and eyes—or learn the language. Either way, it’s awesome that it all comes together.
As for the service I got: I had my previous hard gel manicure removed and got it redone. Yani even told me it was actually good enough for a refill, which I appreciated, but she ended up doing the whole set over for me anyway. I also got a gel pedi removed and a new gel pedi. I don’t usually like showing my toes, but trust me, it looks great.
The whole experience was great from start to finish. Watching the front desk person manage everything—helping clients, delegating, keeping the salon running smoothly—was so impressive. It reminded me of when I was younger in the service industry, trying to put my best foot forward. Honestly, the whole team made the experience amazing—I left feeling taken care of and appreciated.
And I loved the vibe. I’m a simple girl—I don’t need a ton of glitz and glam—but it was just a nice, relaxed little space. They even have a bar menu, so you can sip champagne or wine while getting your pedicure, which was fun. And it’s not just for girls—there was a dad there with his daughter and, I’m assuming, his wife, getting their nails done, so it’s clearly a place for everybody.
After my experience with Polish Lounge, this place really stood out. Everyone was professional, kind, and just made the whole visit enjoyable. Definitely...
Read moreI don’t normally like complain because I know everyone has their off days, however after looking at the other reviews this seems to be the norm.
Nail tech (Wendy) soaked off my previous dip manicure with straight acetone for 25 minutes and then proceeded to drill into my nails and cuticles so hard that literally every one of my nail beds is cut up and raw. After several slips and pokes I finally let her know she was hurting me— to which she didn’t bother to change how harsh she was being. I started physically pulling my hand away when she would hurt me and she just seemed annoyed. She continued to file and put alcohol straight over my very red and raw fingers. Then when she was doing the dip she had my fingers so contorted they would lock up and she acted like this was my fault, even tapping my hand to tell me to relax. She never let me wash my hands or gave me lotion, so I got up from my manicure with dark purple powder all over my completely dried out and raw hands. Aside from her being careless, the manicure sucks. The dip powder is streaky and see through and she ruined my nails I had finally just grown out enough to not get tips.
I went to the front desk to pay (after going to the bathroom to get all the purple dust off my hands) and asked them for lotion. They told me “we don’t have it here”. I replied “oh okay my hands just hurt from being in acetone for like 20 minutes” to which they said nothing. I’ve gotten an attitude from many different people who’ve worked here so I wasn’t really that shocked, but this is definitely the final straw & I won’t be returning.
I came here for the last 6 months and did really enjoy it since there aren’t many places as “nice” as this one, but every time I’ve had subpar treatment. They charge you like you’re in Brickell for nothing great.
