We've been to this restaurant several times, and the food has always been good, as well as previous service.
This review is solely based on our experience on 9/13/25, for their Spanish night.
I called for info about 2 days prior and spoke to a Bree? (Who gave me general info about the event but ended up calling me back with more info on my questions after speaking with the owner). I was told it was $45 pp for buffet, and it included salad, seafood paella, 2 drinks, and dessert. I was told that you can get more food if you like, also that we would have a private table since we were already a party of 6, and that there will be a floorplan so your table is your table no matter what time you arrive and what not. Also, this will be a closed event, so only those who rsvp are allowed.
So we show up just before 7:30, the time of the event, and there's a line. We come to find out that the owner (i assume was the owner) was just taking people and seating them wherever. He was seating people he knew first. We even heard him tell a couple that the event was sold out, but "don't worry, I'll find you a spot." Eventually, we got sat in a booth with our server, Maria.
Don't get me wrong, she was a nice lady... but the service was just not acceptable. Clearly, she was very overwhelmed with the amount of people she needed to tend to.
It was very warm with the number of people in the restaurant plus the fact that they were cooking right there. If you read another review from the past, it states how she was sweating, and unfortunately it was true in our case too. She had sweat all over her face. I understand it's out of her control, but it was a bit unhygienic especially when leaning over the tables and holding the food. Her fellow waitstaff should've maybe suggested a wipe down.
Service was extremely slow, and unfortunately, the other tables were receiving better service. Her tables were pretty much neglected and were serviced way after the other tables. We were the last ones to get anything. The other tables assigned to other servers were already done with their meals, and we were just getting the bread and salad. It got to the point that even another server noticed and told her something, and that's when we got our food.
We were told when we called for info that it was buffet and we could get more, and that wasn't true. The service we received unfortunately was not worth the 20% gratuity automatically added (which was not mentioned). We honestly did not want to prolong and wait longer to discuss, so we just paid and left.
Another thing, if that's the "owner" (older man with white hair), he spent the night focused on drinking and socializing than paying attention to what's was going on and making sure that EVERYONE had a good experience, not just the people he knows. Not once did he stop at our table to see how things were.
Overall, the food was delicious, entertainment was great, honestly, would've been a great event, but service is what ruined the experience. Our server was nice, but niceness only goes so far.
My suggestion is to have more waiters for an event like this with a full restaurant. Create a better system to make sure everyone is being taken care of at a timely pace. Instill in your wait staff to keep an eye out on each other's tables in case help is needed. Whoever is in charge, whether that was the owner or manager, do a better job at leading your team and making sure your customers are satisfied.
Again, this is MY experience of this special event. I would still recommend to visit the restaurant, but I probably would not return for another...
Read moreMazza lost two customers today! What's even more unfortunate, was the experience my friend and I had as customers, in person, at the resturant. Here's a little background. Prior to today, we ordered about every 2 weeks or so through Uber Eats delivery. Living in W Miramar, it was a viable local option. Today, was a busy day full of errands, so we went to Mazza's site directly and ordered from there (they use prime take out system there) so we can pick it up. This was THE WORST decision ever. Our order was suppose to be ready at 7:45 pm. My friend goes in and there is immediate confusion as they didnt know what order is for takeout. He calls me and I tell confirm the 3 things we ordered while outside in the car. He's was thenTURNED AWAY and told there's no order and comes back to my car. At 7:48 pm, I call prime takeout. A gentleman says he made the order and calls the resturant on 3 way. I hear him confirm with the hostess our order and state that we were there. He said he wanted us to know that he did indeed place the order. I was still on the phone with him when we went back into the restaurant. I ask the hostess why she turned my friend away. She said she was there by herself and its had been really busy and they were working on the order. It wasn't ready. We had to wait. Once we got the food, I told the hostess, I wanted to speak with a manager about this situation. To make a long story short, I waited a LONG time. I asked the hostess again, she said something about the owner not being there. I said you must have somone in a leadership role here. I waited then a guy came, who said he was the manager. I explain what happened and asked him, how he6s going to make it right. He then walks away. No words. I'm left to assume he's looking into it and coming back. I wait more..and more. I tell the hostess I gotta go soon. Im thinking, gosh I want to give them a chance to make it right and get together. I was hoping they would. There are other customers waiting and fustrated too. I see the workers looking for the receipt going back and forth. Im still there, waiting. Very long story short, "the manager" comes back (hes name sounded like Alazmac, but Im not sure how its spelled). Eventually, Im handed 7 bucks. I look like what is this? How insulting? I thought to myself, I had to wait 45 minutes of my life for bad service and 7 bucks...this is a epic fail. I tried talking more to the manager but he wanted to talk instead. While he was there, the hostess jumped in and said the food was ready when we came (LIE) and that my friend didnt know the order. I looked at her and said he called me and I told him and you were told. And if the food wasn't ready, why did I have to call prime take out and they call you. The hostess didnt respond. At this point, I knew this was lost cause and waste time. I returned the food and got our money back. Our bill was 27 bucks...it was the principle of the whole thing. The service is what makes this place terrible! Don't waste your time.... there are too many options available and places that appreciate and want to...
Read moreI recently dined at Mazza Mediterranean Cuisine, and my experience was exceptional from start to finish.
Upon arriving, I found the restaurant to be conveniently located with ample parking, which made getting there easy and stress-free. The exterior was inviting, and as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the hostess and immediately felt welcomed.
The ambiance of Mazza Mediterranean Cuisine is delightful. The interior is beautifully decorated with a Mediterranean flair, featuring warm colors, elegant lighting, and comfortable seating. The atmosphere was cozy yet lively, making it perfect for both casual meals and special occasions.
The staff at Mazza were attentive and friendly. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to explain various dishes and make recommendations based on our preferences. Her enthusiasm and understanding of the cuisine added to the overall dining experience.
The food at Mazza Mediterranean Cuisine was the highlight of the evening. We started with a variety of appetizers, including hummus, baba ghanoush, and falafel. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The hummus was creamy and perfectly seasoned, while the falafel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
For the main course, I opted for the lamb kebabs, which were cooked to perfection. The lamb was tender, juicy, and seasoned with a blend of spices that enhanced its natural flavors. The accompanying sides of rice and grilled vegetables were equally delicious and complemented the main dish wonderfully.
My dining companion chose the chicken shawarma, which was also outstanding. The chicken was moist and well-seasoned, served with a generous portion of pita bread, tahini sauce, and a fresh salad. Every bite was a delightful mix of flavors and textures.
We couldn't resist trying dessert and ordered the baklava, which was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. It was flaky, not overly sweet, and had just the right amount of honey and nuts.
In summary, my visit to Mazza Mediterranean Cuisine was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and outstanding food made for a memorable dining experience. I left feeling satisfied and...
