Have been going to this place for 5 years. And have had 2 bad experiences and tonight was one of them. I called an hour ahead to change a ground beef empanada for a cheese empanada because the beef had a real bad taste like if it was bad or left out for days and then cooked. The weirdest taste. Then get there and the cashier tells me I have to wait 8 minutes because she gave my empanada away because I was not there in 10 minutes after I called. Mind you she have no idea how far I live. So, then I asked for my money back because I didn’t have the time to wait and she said they don’t give the money back because of taste. So, the food can taste absolute garbage and that’s not on them I’m guessing. Or you can live far as hell and they will give your food away because you were not there in 10 minutes to pick it up. Also, after waiting 20 minutes they still didn’t have the empanada ready after the second time I went inside to pick it up. So, I had to leave without my food and without my money back. Read moreI am not too huge of a fan of this place, but my husband has always loved and talked up this place. Today we ordered take out as it was the fastest and closest place we could get an arepa. I ordered over the phone and said I’d pay in store and was given a turn around time of 10 mins. I had my husband go pick up and he left almost 20 mins after we made the order and when he got there he still had to wait. People were walking in, ordering, and they were getting their food before my husband even tho my husband had gone in and stated he was picking up. Once he did get his food, the cashier had selected the 15% tip option and my husband didn’t realize until after he hit submit and he noticed her doing this to multiple customers, some caught it and would change it, but it’s unacceptable as it is a tip and if they’re providing bad customer attention, a customer shouldn’t be tricked into giving a tip. The only reason they’re getting two stars and not one is because the food is okay. Read moreThe food is great but the ordering ahead for pickup is terrible....I do not seem to understand how if I place an order ahead of getting to the restaurant how could it not be ready when I placed the order 15-20 minutes ago. Unfortunately I was explained that staff can not put the offer ahead of time unless payment is processed. I ordered a total of 20 dollars. I also could not make the payment since I was driving. I understand if I had a big order because I could understand the owners not wanting to take a risk on me not paying for the food. I also learned that the staff are hesitant to put the order in the system because if the customer does not pick it up then the actual staff member will have to pay for it. This is very unfortunate and not fair to the staff. As a business owner you have to weigh the pros and cons of doing this....obviously management here does not care about anything else other than money.
