Johnny E. Osuna Memorial Park: A Charming Oasis in Peoria Johnny E. Osuna Memorial Park is a delightful spot in Peoria, offering a welcome respite from the Arizona sun. While not perfect, it's a charming park with several features that make it a solid 4-star experience.
What I loved:
Artistic touches: The park is adorned with unique art pieces like bronze sculptures, tile mosaics, and the interactive "Back on Track" installation. These add a touch of personality and spark imagination. Harmony Park: This dedicated area with musical instruments like bells, tubes, and a xylophone is a unique and engaging space for children and adults alike. It's a fun way to explore music and create your own melodies. Pleasant atmosphere: The park has a well-maintained walking path, shaded picnic areas with architectural trellises, and a spacious grassy area, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. Old Town charm: The location near Old Town Peoria adds to the appeal, allowing you to combine your park visit with exploring local shops and restaurants. Room for improvement:
Limited playground: While Harmony Park is unique, a traditional playground structure for younger children would be a welcome addition. Restroom facilities: The availability and cleanliness of restrooms could be improved for a more comfortable experience. Parking: Parking can be tight, especially during peak hours and events. Consider exploring alternative options if visiting during busy times. Overall:
Johnny E. Osuna Memorial Park is a charming and well-maintained park with unique artistic touches and a peaceful atmosphere. While some minor improvements could be made, it's a delightful spot for a relaxing afternoon or a fun outing with the family. I recommend it for anyone seeking a break from the urban buzz and a chance to connect with nature and...
Read moreAlways enjoy the park. Pictures of the recent holiday, but today….me and my Blue and Punk (their aliases aka nicknames) walked form our home enjoying the rain, grabbed a snack at Walmart and then walked to the park to have a wet but limited covering picnic. No marks for this for sure but just recommend a couple covered seating areas for a day or brief outing for lunch or snack on a rainy day 😊☔️🧺 Our family really enjoy the walk through downtown peoria seeing all the wildlife (saw nine small parakeets on our adventure).
If your looking for a walk, some brief get a way or just want o reflect or be with family, this park is a beautiful hour of time of happiness. Thanks Peoria, keep up the great atmosphere and family and community enjoyment, the link between city and wild,...
Read moreThis park may be a nice place to sit and relax but...if you need to use the restroom you are out of luck. They are kept locked. Water fountains don't work. not much shade. It's a shame, there is a wonderful outdoor music instrument garden for kids to explore and make music on. I visited in the summer and it was all burning hot. This area has really been built up nicely. Lots of art deorate the intersections with paintings at the intersections, decretive bus stops, houses with character and corner walkways decorated with creative plant pots. I guess the park is only friendly on Performing arts day or something. Casual park visitors beware, you'll need to find facilities elsewhere if...
