I have been eating breakfast at Brothers Family Resturant more than occasionally over the last 10 years. It was always my go to spot for a good bottomless cup of coffee, above average breakfast fare with a quality and home cooking feel the chain restaurants just cant pull off. Even though I had noticed a steady decline in quality and portion size with my favorites dishes on my last few visits. The biscuits and gravy plate wasnt quite as impressive and the ham and cheese omelette looked flat with the cheese I was used to seeing bubbling out of the folds of the fluffy egg noticeably absent only to be replaced by higher prices and a remodeled interior of the restaurant. Still, I wasn't dissuaded after the many years of hearty breakfasts and excellent, friendly service. That all changed when I took my family to Brothers to enjoy a family breakfast on New Years morning. We were greated cordially as we entered and told to seat ourselves, coffee was offerred and poured immediately which is always welcome on a very brisk January morning, that was the highlight of our visit. Two biscuits and gravy meals with eggs for my wife and I, pancakes and fruit for the kids. The gravy was tasteless with only a few noticible bits of sausage and a texture that bordered on inedible the biscuits hard and flat that I could barely work through with a knife. 4 pancakes for the kids served so cold that my five year old daughter complained that she couldn't make her butter melt, an absolute travesty in the eyes of my five year old. A return to the kitchen and a reheat instead of fresh hotcakes just didn't quite have the same magic upon minnie mouse return with her still non melting butter nose. I almost would be willing to write off the quality of the food to a cook that possibly had a little too much fun ringing in the new year, it was before 8am on new years day, if it wasn't for the steady decline of my dining experiences in my last half a dozen visits, that is until my waitress slid me the check. Total without tip 2 dollars under 50 bucks, 4 biscuits, 4 eggs, 4 sausage links, some tasteless sausage gravy with no sausage, 6 pancakes, two strawberries, a slice of under ripe melon, 2 coffees and two small orange juices. $58.00 for a family of 4 for breakfast Sorry Brothers Family Resturant, your new dining room is nice but you better deliver a superior product if your charging a premium price and our experience on New Years Day wasn't even close. The Brothers might have to revisit the word family in their name as I don't know many families that have the budget for a $60 dollar trip to the neighborhood diner. I know one family who doesn't and we...

This is our favorite place for breakfast. Nothing fancy, but always good, and the price is about $5 less per person than the fancier places. As the name says, this is a family friendly restaurant with no loud DJ. We have never had to wait, but tend to come early morning on Saturdays. They have a large dining room, a separate room for large parties, and a small covered patio.
They have lunch and dinner as well, and from what we understand, the spaghetti special and fried fish are favorites. In fact, someone ordered the spaghetti for breakfast when we were there last :-). One of the owners also makes really good pies and cakes. We have purchased their peanut butter pie for special events and have savored every bite.
The staff is very friendly and attentive, and they keep the restaurant spotless. If you come often enough then they will even remember your favorite order. The owners are usually in attendance and will greet customers.
We like a traditional breakfast with coffee, eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. The food is always good and consistent. The coffee is plentiful and not as bitter as some of the more trendy places. While we may visit other cafe’s to check them out, this will always be our...
Read moreWow, I am astonished! This was my very first time dining at Brothers Family Restaurant; I was not disappointed! First off, I would like to recognize the impressive customer service. Everyone was extremely welcoming, all the while striving to make a pleasant dining experience. The waiters and staff consistently monitored tables, essentially making sure not one person had an empty cup or a dirty plate in front of them. Perhaps the most important part of the meal was the food (obviously). Personally, I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and was not disappointed. I have had numerous sandwiches, but this one topped all of them. The steak was fresh and cooked with extreme care. As a side, the fries compliment the dish well; the fries were fresh and very rich in flavor overall. The biggest thing that impressed me the most was the elegant presentation of the food. Not very many restaurants pay much attention to how the food is presented nowadays; huge props to the people backstage. I also admired how clean the whole restaurant was; not one spec of dust to be seen. With that being said, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone looking to try something new or expand...
