my original response: Instead of charging me for a veggie/turkey sausage omelette. She charged me individually 12.49 for veggie omelette and 5.99 for turkey sausage. All she had to do is charge me for an Italian sausage omelette and switched out the meat for 12.49. All the omelets came with cheese except mine. I was supposed to have 3 eggs omelette & clearly I only had one, the eggs was paper thin. When I picked up my egg, all the filling fall out. They over charged me. Veggie omelet is 10.99 not 12.49. My second order was a basic grilled cheese which cost 10.49 and added bacon 2.99.
Reply to Peoria Cafe: You were given false information. Like most business you should have a recorded line before speaking because anything can be said. Ap Apparently I looked over the menu which stated over the phone. I called twice once to see you had turkey because your menu lacked the information. It was her responsibility as a well-trained waitress to make concessions for what I ordered, making it make sense as other restaurants would. Your web menu clearly said 10.99 for a vegetable omelette, not 12.49, indicating an overcharge. I cook frequently and enjoy making omelette. Your omelet did not fold; instead, I was able to open it with all the fillings spilling out. An omelet has the components imbedded, but as you can see in the photo, I was able to separate it to have sheet eggs, meat, and vegetables.. The egg had little volume and was translucent; the turkey was really dry, with very little frozen vegetable. Your egg contained no white granules or specks, indicating that you utilized carton eggs rather than real eggs. You stated you "5-6 eggs" when the recipe plainly reads "3 eggs" for an omelette. Excellent effort! I wouldn't expect more than what you offer because it like giving 2-3 eggs for free. Out of 2k review theres one-star reviews as well. I never received anything free as a result of my evaluations since I didn't want it. I work hard for a living and do not require handouts. If I wanted McDonald's, I would have gone there, but I chose your terrible establishment instead, believing I was receiving nice cuisine. If I wasn't pregnant, the meal would have gone into the garbage, along with my coworker's bacon grilled cheese and undercooked fries. On a side note, your personnel left their long thread of hair on the side raspberry tea cup. I need you to...
Read moreThis was our first time here and we came for the Friday fish fry based on some recommendations. We are always on the hunt for a good fish fry, and so far have only found less than a handful. However, today we just added another place into our rotation! Peoria Cafe is a quaint little place, that has zero frills to the place, but that's ok, the fish fry made up for all that. It was very good...wasnt the best but definitely flippin good. The staff was friendly, even telling us to come back for the breakfast and to make sure to come try their special cinnamon rolls, and I definitely will!! The prices were pretty fair and the fish we got tonight were pretty good size pieces. We were told some days they are smaller, it all depends on what they get and I am ok with that. If I would have known how big the plate was for my 4 pieces and my husband's 7 pieces, I would have ordered 2 instead, lol...but I guess I have food for the next day. The Cole slaw was tasty, a little too much on the creamy side so it loses its crunch but had good flavor. You also get your choice of a potato as a side= mashed, French fries or a baked potato. My husband got the French fries, which by the way were very good and I got this enormous baked potato, which was good but should have been cooked a tad longer to make it soft and fluffy. The fish had a great batter and loved the crunch it had. A few changes I would have made though, is if you order 2 pieces of fish, you should get at a minimum 1 container of tartar sauce, 4 pieces = 2 tartar sauces and definitely 3 plus tartar sauces for the 7 piece and more butter and sour cream for the large baked potato. But all in all, we WILL be back, not only because of the food but the two women that were working tonight...not sure who they were, one was doing more of the cashier stuff and one was serving tables but both very sweet and telling us to come back and try their breakfast. Friday is the only day they are open later due to the fish fry. Looking forward to coming back for breakfast and to get my hands on one of those cinnamon rolls they spoke of, cannot wait. Stay tuned for my review of...
Read moreBEWARE OF OWNER!!!! She shoukdn’t be allowed to interact with the public.
Too bad google doesn’t allow for zero stars.
Warning!! This ranks up there with the most horrible customer treatment and mediocre food. We had visitors in from out town and we suggested Peoria cafe to get lunch on a Friday. There were a total of 7 of us including seniors and a veteran with his service animal.
Once we arrived at the cafe, we were instructed by the hostess that we needed to sit on the patio in 110 degree heat because of the service animal who was clearly attired and identified as such. We politely told the hostess that it was in legal violation to not allow is to sit inside the establishment. She got the owner (Layla) who came out of the back in a hostile manner and in a scolding and cynical manner said to eat on the patio or leave and that there were misters on the patio.
Now, I was in a dilemma to have people fed that were beyond hungry even though we really should have left, so I conceded. We get out to the patio and the misters were really meant to water the plants around the perimeter of the patio. Our poor waitress tried to help by giving us a broom to redirect the misters only to have the owner come out and extremely rudely tell us we couldn’t move them. Did I say that it was literally 110 degrees outside.
I have names for her that I wouldn’t call most enemies. I don’t know how she stays in business. She humiliated a veteran, violated law, and could care less. Every veteran or disabled person should BOYCOTT this place. The treatment was appalling. She will...
