This place is fun overall, but weāve noticed some problems in our last two visits. First, there are often a bunch of teens standing around while customers wait: for check in, food purchase, food pick up, etc. I havenāt seen much active management around offering these teens mentoring and training. This makes no sense to me. This is the time to make a new business shine! Iām not criticizing the teens either. That is a management problem. I will say that when you do get service, itās pretty good. The same girl checked us in to the pre-purchased/event area both times. She was AWESOME: friendly and helpful. My biggest concern is their blue āOff Rampā slide. Do not let your friends and family ride this slide. Itās not safe. I have seen so many people snap their neck sideways and/or crunch their neck at the end. They come off too fast, flying into something looking like itās made for crash test dummies. The friction slowing people down is not enough. Kids and adults come off that slide, smack into this āpillow,ā and come off rubbing their neck. Notice their waiver says you have to report injuries before you leave. Do this if your neck is sore. But if you can, avoid this slide or complain so they fix it. Iām super scared my kids are gonna end up with a major spinal injury. No way. In fact, we may not have our birthday party here in two weeks because I donāt want our friends to get hurt. Another problem is their food prep is crazy slow. We waited 28 minutes for pretzel bites tonight. No one at the counter was even slightly concerned about this. (They tasted good though!) My final gripe is their 30 day pass is only 90 minutes of play. We bought 120 minutes of play on our first visit, and it was just about right. Our kids were tired after 120 minutes and ready to leave. This time at 90 minutes (since we bought the pass), my 6-year old sobbed when it was time to go. Perhaps itās because we spent a full 30 minutes waiting for our food tonight. Next time, we told the kids āno snacks.ā (Considering their bottled sodas are $4.99, skipping the snack bar is a good idea anyhow.) Iād like to see them extend the 30-day pass to 120-minutes of play or offer an upper tier pass with a longer time. You have to go at least 3 times to make the 30-day pass a savings instead of just paying the 90-minute play rate. Thatās not that great of a deal to me. Hoping that Slick City can make some improvements because we love the concept. Check out the photos of the Off Ramp slide for a better understanding of why itās not safe. Aside from these suggested improvements, my kids love this place and get great exercise. Hoping they get this stuff figured out and last...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately, I should have listened to the negative reviews for Slick City before trying this place out. They just opened up a few weeks ago. It needs A LOT of improvement before the average Joe can walk in, have some fun, and not worry about any complications.
The employees lack any customer service experience, the sliding rugs they have came straight from China, made dirt cheap with how easily the handles tore off. Within the first 10 minutes of entering the building, and on the first slide, my child got injured. They say to keep your hands on the rug handles, but what do you hold onto in the event that one of them snaps off? Youāre screwed.
I understand things happen, but there are ways to resolve things. After finding out that my child was injured to the point he couldnāt enjoy other slides, I went to the front desk to request a partial or a full refund. Mind you, I was extremely respectful during the entirety of the conversation. I donāt believe being rude to resolve an issue will get either parties anywhere.
The employees really ticked me off with their snarky comments and attitude when I requested a refund within 25 minutes of being there. I was told the best they could do is two free passes and a slushy. Why would I want to come back to this place after such negligence and employees who are unable to produce a satisfactory resolution for the customer? It felt like a slap in the face when offered those two items, instead of an actual refund.
The rides and equipment at Slick City HAVE NOT been tested enough to ensure they are safe for the average Joe. If you donāt believe me, look at the other reviews. Weāve been to Urban Air hundreds of times with no negative experiences, that should tell you something. It only took us one time for us to never come back here again.
The management failed to deliver a customer friendly experience....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my fourth time this to this location and today was the absolute worst experience. We came for the home school time that runs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. we showed up at 11:18 a.m. and we were told that the button was no longer on their computer and that we were too late. I was astonished at that statement as it is from 11:00 to 1:00 and they proceeded to try to charge me full price if we wanted to stay and I said okay well we're just going to leave because for my two children to come here for an hour and a half is almost $70 which is absurd but I had a gift card so they took everything off of the gift card and I said wait a minute it's supposed to be $14.99 a kid and they couldn't figure it out after 15 minutes of them trying and calling somebody else they let my kids play for free which I appreciated and put the $50 back on my gift card corporate needs to fix this for their employees if you're going to advertise 11:00 to 1:00 homeschool moms want flexibility they want to be able to show up at noon and let their kids play for an hour for $15 you guys are missing out by not marketing this on your website and also by not allowing flexibility we unfortunately probably won't be back there's no way we would ever be able to be here by 11:00 a.m. to check in due to our...
