China Grill — Restaurant in Peoria

Update: Tried something different. The pork egg foo young with gravy on the side was very yummy! My husband didn't even know what it was but ate it all. :)

Update: Ordered almost the exact same thing as reviewed below. Once again, so freaking good! Fresh. Not greasy. Saucy. Love!

China Grill **Online order- was scheduled to be ready about half an hour after I ordered but was ready in less than 10 minutes. The website did not tell me it was ready, but I went inside to wait and it was ready, so no complaints.

**Restaurant- small, has a lot of clutter by the front door but smelled amazing walking in. Being August, I always expect places to be warm inside. This was not the case. It was a pleasant temperature. Which means, if you're a cold person, bring a sweater. If you're a hot person, you won't be uncomfortable and sweaty. **Lunch meal container- I'm a sucker for a good container. This was worth rinsing and will be used again. **Service- Super quick, order was correct, the worker was pleasant. **Portion- When I come home with take out food, I immediately separate it into portion containers. Between my husband and I trying everything and splitting everything up, we have five portioned meals with a variety of each item.

**Twice Cooked Chicken Lunch -Fresh, hot, nice portion, juicy chicken. Could have been spicier but I can just ask for more spicy next time. -Extra sauce- not sure it has extra sauce, but it did have a perfect amount of sauce. Finding twice cooked chicken, let alone good twice cooked chicken is hard. This is definitely above expectations. -Sub noodles- Super tasty. Crunchy cabbage and veggies. A good portion as a side subbed out instead of plain rice. -Spring roll- The only thing I didn't care for. However that's not a complaint, I tend not to like this type of roll.

**Lunch Chicken Fried Rice -I rarely, if ever, find a lunch portion/price of fried rice. This made me happy. -This was an interesting rice. Even when I opened it my husband said it smelled different from normal fried rice. The smell and taste was kinda like it was grilled. I never knew I needed this specific flavor of fried rice in my life but it is so yummy and puts almost all other fried rice (from other restaurants) to shame! The chicken is juicy. The rice was perfectly cooked and not dry.

**Cup of Hot and Sour Soup -This soup has an interesting tang to it. Probably the best hot and sour I've had.

*Side of sweet and sour- good, not amazing, but good enough. *Side of hot mustard- now this is some amazing, and amazingly hot, hot mustard!

Next Time (We will be back for sure!) -I think I'd try the pork fried rice, with the flavor of the rice and freshness of all the meats I did try, I'm betting the pork will be amazing! -Twice cooked chicken lunch sub noodles again, add extra spice. May ask if a ragoon can replace the spring roll? -Hot and sour soup for sure. -Am interested in the egg drop soup now since everything was so yummy. -Will get hot mustard for sure. -May ask for a different side sauce instead of sweet and sour, if possible great. If not, I'd still be good to use the sweet and sour. -I’m honestly...

I'll start by saying they've good food. WATCH OUT!! This place has FALSE ADVERTISING, they DO NOT honor what they claim! Last night was the 3rd TIME I Called in delivery order, my credit card number was taken, the card was ran, but i WAS NOT GIVEN A TOTAL (3rd time this same lady has done this!!), and before she hastily hung up after running my card, i stopped her and asked the total. Over $39 on my order that's CLEARLY LISTED $24.99! THEY ALSO SAY NO DELIVERY FEE ON ORDERS OVER $20! WHEN SHE TOLD ME SHE WAS CHARGING ME OVER $15.00 MORE THAN MY $25 ORDER, I IMMEDIATELY ASKED HOW IN THE WORLD CAN THERE BE $15.00+ TAX!??

Her response was, "how you expect us make money like that?"

I said,"your advertising CLEARLY says free delivery over $20 order, so it should be FREE DELIVERY. This is the 3rd time in a row that you've NOT TOLD ME MY TOTAL, RAN MY CARD, AND MY CARD WAS CHARGED WAAAY MORE THAN IT SHOULD'VE BEEN!"

HER response, "i cancel your order, you get no food!!". THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME!

My date and I came in on a weekday so nobody was eating at the time. We were greeted by all the people that worked there with a smile and a welcome so that's awesome! The environment seemed appropriate with music and decorations. The menus were a bit faded on the back though. The servers were on track and always focused on the customers and their needs. We had a guy with a ponytail and he was awesome and funny, took the time to talk with us and recommended some items to eat! In terms of the food, we ordered crab puffs, veggie lo mein, and honey sesame chicken. The food was delicious while not bland nor over greased like other typical Chinese restaurants! They provided enough rice to balance out the meal which is normally a complaint of mine since most places don't give enough rice! I love rice since I'm Asian! Actually there was more rice than food in the end! The chicken was crispy and white, just right! The crab puffs were great too with a side of sweet and sour. But my favorite was the lo mein, it wasn't greasy and the taste was spot on. My date loves lo mein and she said it's one of the best she tasted! As for the drinks, they were never emptied since they had awesome staff! Will definitely be coming back for more! Thanks! The price is good here if not fair! I don't know why Google puts three $ for the place!...
