The Sewing Station — Attraction in Pflugerville

I very last minute came in here to take a horrible unwearable gross fitting dress I bought online to be Marilyn Monroe from the diamonds are a girl's Best Friend number for a Halloween party. The owner was amazing and tried to keep the cost down as much as possible. She was so great that I got no less than 30 compliments while out from strangers on my costume! It was ready before expected The craftsmanship was amazing and all around just an incredible experience. I actually have my car loaded up as we speak with other items that I need to have altered!! I know that this will be where my family and I come from now on to have any kind of alteration done to clothing. This place was unknown to me until recently but it's definitely a hidden gem.... Absolutely incredible service, prices, and quality

Thank you, you saved the day!! Well actually the night.... you saved Halloween night; but...

My daughter is getting married soon and I found a dress to wear as the mother-of-the-bride, but the straps needed to be altered. I didn't know about The Sewing Station at the time, so I took the dress to another place thinking it would be a simple process. When I picked up the dress, the straps were very uneven and tight, and no extra was left on the strap when it was shortened. Someone told me about The Sewing Station, so I took the dress there to see what could be done. Louise was AMAZING. She took the time to lesson to my concerns and she immediately started thinking of ways to "fix" the straps. She was patient and willing to try multiple things. Not only did she fix the straps, she made them work better for my body. I'll definitely be taking my items to her in the future to be altered...

I took sewing 101, 102 and 103 with Louise and learned so much. I had a little bit of knowledge going in, but wanted to start at the beginning and it was worth it-- turns out I had been missing a step threading my machine for the last 5 years!! The classes are great because you learn the skill and then get to apply it in small projects. Louise is a warm and patient teacher, and a hoot to spend time with :)

As a side note, I also really appreciate Louise's dedication to helping other small business owners and the community. She partnered with a church to donate textile scraps, has space in her studio for other small businesses to showcase goods, and is focused on creating sustainable wear with her own lines.
