El Rincon and I have a love hate relationship. Their food went down the tubes a couple of years ago and my husband and I agreed to never return. We went against our previous decision as we were desperate for a cheese enchilada and because well, I just haven't perfected my chile con carne sauce :). Well lo and behold, they had a new menu, new items, new staff, a new look so to speak (it really had been like 2-3 yrs since we were there). Really got excited about all that fluff. Ordered the Stuffed Avocado w/beef fajita and man let me tell you, perfect seasoning, crust, etc. It was superb that one time. Then that was it.... They sucked us into coming back by having that one night of excellent food. I was really really surprised. After that 1st visit, I told my hubby we'd be back WEEKLY. Yeah that didn't last unfortunately... 2nd time we went back which was approximately 1 week later, boom. Bottom fell out from my "Delicious food" hot air balloon. Ordered the same exact thing and it was like a totally different tasting thing and cold. The waiter got our son's cheese enchilada sauce wrong and then proceeded to argue with me about what I ordered. He repeated the sauce and I confirmed and what we received was not what we ordered then he argued that I was wrong. NOPE. Not doing this. Paid for our drinks and left the food on the table. We decided that maybe they were having a bad night. Went back 2 weeks after that incident and made sure to sit in a different waiters station. Food came out correct, flavor, consistency, all of it was BLAH. You can't even eat the hot sauce anymore because of how much peppers they put in it. You used to be able to eat their salsa. Or maybe they used to have a milder one... I don't know. We will not go back. Good luck to you and may the odds be ever...
Read moreMy husband and I were just there 10/17/20. I was on the my phone when I walked in and told the lady table for 2 and she said it would be a 10-15 hold although it was not really full. When we walked in other people came in after us. After 8 minutes they seated the first pair that came in after us, then they seated the other 2 ladies after, I went up to the 2 ladies that were doing the seating and I asked why are we being skipped they looked at each other and acted "surprised" I told her that she now has skipped us twice and she said "oh I'm sorry I forgot " then we had to wait 5 more minutes. When we finally got seated I asked for a manager. The manager came to our table and I let her know the situation and she acted like she didn't care, but would check on it. Manager took about 10 minutes and said that the first one that skipped us were already there just waiting outside and the other gave his name and I never did since I was on the phone and she did not want to interup me. I told her that the lady told me the wait and never asked my name and my husband was next to me and didn't ask his name either and we were right there the whole time in front of them. Manager said the lady tried asking my husband, but that he didn't respond. I told she neither one asked either of us for a name and the manager said "well they said you never gave a name ". I think that was was unprofessional of her and basically making it seem like I was lying and not the 2 ladies up front. We got up from the table and as we were leaving i told the gentleman up front to tell the waitress to cancel our order. We left and I don't think we will be going back if they do not value their customers concerns and care more about saving face for...
Read moreI wasn't planning on writing a review today but I thought I should share my experience nontheless. That said, this will be short without images.
When we arrived we were seated promptly and not long after were greeted by our server. The server was friendly and provided good service. We ordered a margarita which tasted pretty good, but had very little alcohol. I'd say for the most part this restaurant is pretty good, except for one thing, the food. I've eaten out at mexican restaurants hundreds of times and of all the places I've gone to this is probably the worst, and it's not close. I got a chimichanga and my wife got the burrito dinner. Mine tasted oily and gamey and my wife's was dry and almost inedible. I choked it down and as soon as I got home I went searching for something to get the terrible taste out of my mouth. My wife felt sick when we got home saying that she felt full but not in a good way.
Another thing is that the menu is pretty small. You basically have about 2/3 of a page where about a quarter of the items were basically the same thing with different toppings.
I am giving this three stars because the only huge problem is the kitchen. Whoever is responsible for the menu should ammend it before this starts impacting sales. Kind of reminds me of the experience you see on the TV show Kitchen Nightmares with Gordan...
