I can only speak to the ordering process. I have never used them before but they came recommended for a company function so I went to the website and sent an email asking about the process for ordering for a work function. The response I got to my email was to call. The woman who answered could not have been more dismissive or rude. I apologized ahead of time for having a lot of questions because what I tried to get addressed via email wasn't, and I was told to call. I just wanted recommendations on tray sizes (you know - "feeds 25 - 30 people" - that kind of thing that you get at any other food establishment). Her response: "They don't come in trays." Ok - so you're missing the point. The point is that - never having used your company before - I would like your professional recommendation on how many of "X" I should order. It went back-and-forth like that for a few minutes but I did find a product that seems to make sense for our function so I ordered that (just based on something that was easily quantifiable for the amount of people who will be in attendance). I am sure that the pretzels are perfectly fine and that our team will enjoy them. I can only recommend that if they don't want customers emailing them, to not advertise an email address. Subsequently, if they are telling everyone to call, to not be snippy on the phone. Finally, maybe they ought to have some quantity recommendations/pricing on the site if they feel as though answering those questions is a waste of their time. I can only hope that the food is better than their...
Read moreLocation: Awesome spot. Right outside of the Italian Open Market. It looks like a smelting oven or a sheet metal press, but its a pretzel oven in a dark room.
Food: Cheap, huge pretzels. I thought that I misread the amount for the price. I spent $5 and filled an entire brown shopping bag with pretzels. I shared them with everyone I came across including the Monaco I stayed at. They obliged and took a good number off my hands. The pretzels are thick and not a fluffy/soft type. The only reason not for 5-stars. It just wasn't my type of pretzel but everyone in this city is all about it.
Drinks: They have a small cooler to grab a few bottles of beverages.
Tip: Cash Only. ATM in Asian Pharmacy across the street along with some off-the-wall beverage choices.
Overall: If you need to feed an army with quick carbs in a flash, this is your spot. Great for swinging by before heading to watch a game with your pals or...
Read moreBest Pretzels in Philly... Hell, the whole area anywhere outside the city. Small, long-time family owned business that works hard and does good by their customers. The have been hit with a one-two punch due to the pandemic and an electrical fire in their facility that is temporarily keeping them closed, but they continually keep their customers apprised of the repair progress via socials and I for one am waiting anxiously for their re-opening. When they are back up, I highly recommend them. If you aren't from the area, or are a local relocated out-of-town, grab them on Goldbelly when they are back to baking. You can't find a better pretzel at one of "those other" places and you certainly can't give your business to a more deserving establishment and family. (Buy a case and make "pizza pretzels" you...
