I'll start out with the bad and end on a positive note.
I purchased a 2025 Chevy Trax approximately 2 months ago (mid April). My check engine light went on within 4 weeks of me having it. Checked my app which stated it was the emissions system ---- gas cap. Contacted the Service Center to schedule an appointment for the issue. The man I spoke with stated that he wasn't a mechanic but proceeded to give me mechanical advice. The man stated "I'll schedule you, it's probably just a sensor, it if goes off just cancel the appointment.... Ok. This isn't my profession or expertise - they are, so I listens to him. After a couple weeks the check engine light did go off, in which lead me to canceling my appointment. However, that wasn't the end of the issue and I had to schedule ANOTHER appointment. My check engine light continued to go on and off numerous times in between my next scheduled appointment and getting it inspected and serviced. Furthermore, I began smelling an intense burning plastic odor from the outside of my vechicle every day, every car ride. As I should note, it was really nice to breathe in with my asthmatic child and let off into the environment!!! This was note the normal "new car" smell that burns off in the beginning.
Fast forward: to the day of my service, Amanda assisted me throughout and was great for the most part. Turns out, I have an evap leak which is why my check engine light is on and off - note again BRAND NEW CAR and there is burnt plastic all along my exhaust. They also stated the part they need to fix the evap leak is unavailable and will have to be brought back again to be fixed with the part in stock. Ok, let's miss another day of work and be car-less! Super efficient there. I was TEXTED the issues with my car and told it's ready for pick-up. No, I want to speak with someone directly via phone and go over details. What was the plastic from? Did you remove it? Will I be able to have a rental for the inconvenience of a manufactur error on a brand new car? Therefore, I called the office and asked the employee to speak with Amanda over the phone. The employee put me on hold then proceeded to tell me she was unavailable at the time. Okay, may I speak to a manager? No, he's busy, too. I said okay will are you sure, you didn't even check? She proceeds to gain an attitude and YELL "IM LOOKING AT HIM RIGHT NOW HES NOT." And hangs up on me. Extremely rude, disrespectful, inappropriate and unprofessional. DO BETTER. From a valued customer who has had 3 cars with. Spoke with the manager on site who was apologetic for this employee's behavior but didn't seem willing to do anything about it or go over policy with the employee moving forward. This has put a totally bad taste in my mouth and has lost a loyal customer moving forward. I will never lease/buy again with them due to this and am dreading having to deal with them for the next few years.
On a lighter note, back to purchasing my 2025 trax, I enjoyed the process thanks to Jose. He was welcoming, efficient, and easy-going. I appreciate...
Read moreOn Saturday 10/14/23 my wife brought her Chevy trax to the Hessert Chevrolet service center for a state inspection and oil change. This car has only 18,000 miles on it and has never once giving us any type of issues. After the car was finished about 1-2 miles down the road approximately 5 minutes the car broke down. We called Hessert Chevrolet they stated “oh maybe we didn’t hook the air line up correctly.” They sent her a tow and brought the vehicle back in. After looking at the vehicle they then come out to accuse my wife of filling the car with diesel fuel after she pulled off the lot, only problem with that is she never stopped to get gas. After explaining that to them the mechanic made remarks to her such as “I don’t know what your little boyfriends put in your car” I then came in to speak to them and they tried showing me things like the color of the gas and how it’s different. I have videos of them removing the gas from the car and whistling as if it is in fact not good. After trying to talk to the manager on how this isn’t possible if she never stopped to get gas and to even show that the vehicle is still under 1/4 tank the manager replied to me with “I don’t know what to tell you buddy” as he handed over a $1200 estimate to remove the fuel tank and flush the diesel gas from the system. I asked to see the video footage of them working on my car and was denied access. I then asked them to not put another finger on my car and to have it put on the lot to be towed off. We had the car towed to an auto repair shop not far away. The mechanic at the auto repair shop then confirmed that the only thing wrong with the car was that it was over filled with engine oil, and that there was in fact 100% no diesel gas in the car. The mechanic and manager of the service center tried scamming and ripping off someone who had purchased a vehicle and continued to use the service center with absolutely no problem. On the following Monday 10/16/23 I had spoken to the GM who at first seemed to be very understand on why my wife and I were so upset until he heard that at this time nothing was actually wrong with the vehicle. As far as them trying to rip us off or scam us it was water under the bridge. His exact reply was “we were wrong you were right let’s leave it at that.” It seemed to be a pretty normal scam they run except this time some one questioned them. The GM did offer a refund for the tow off the lot to the mechanic shop but as far as the attempt to take another $1200 off us and a refund for the job of the oil change that wasn’t done properly and caused us a weekend of total chaos didn’t seem to phase him. This place should be investigated for any future or...
Read moreI went in for an oil change and to have them take a look at a problem I had with my Traverse a month after buying it. I bought a brand new 2023 Traverse in August only to find out it had electrical issues with the CarPlay and Screen. I reported the issue in October, but the Mechanic Nate said they were able to detect anything so there was nothing that can be done, but if it happened again to record it and bring it back. I recorded numerous incidents where I’m unable to turn off the radio and the back camera comes on while I’m driving forward. The screen goes blurring during maps so I can’t see where the maps is directing me and there’s no sound. Also, people are trying to call me and I’m not notified, but my phone is connected to the car. Last month I went in for my scheduled oil change again and mentioned the previous concerns and showed the rep the videos. After my Traverse was service I was told that GM is aware of the situation but they don’t have a fix for it; that perhaps by my next oil change appointment they would have a fix for it and get it rectified. I stated my grievance regarding the fact that the car was a brand new car so how could it possibly have any of these problems. He apologized and said there was really nothing he could do and reiterated that GM is aware of the issue. My thing is so I’m supposed to keep a $44,000 car that has a malfunction while you come up with a fix? How is this even acceptable? Why is not GM recalling the vehicle and fixing the issue since I’m not the only one experiencing this issue and I’m given another vehicle as a replacement. I’ll reiterate… it’s a brand new vehicle that I financed and nothing is being done to accommodate me for a malfunctioning car. I further believe that Hessert Chevrolet was aware of the problem before they sold the car to me since the salesperson mentioned that the car was getting detailed and being brought right over. Why would a brand new car need detailing? My thoughts are now running thinking if the car was sold to someone and they noticed the issue within the timeframe and returned it cause it did have 4 miles on it. Or perhaps, someone was trying to work on it and here I come to purchase a vehicle and they were told to sell off that one just to get it off the lot. I really don’t know, but it’s not making sense. Just like the delay to fix it while my warranty expires and then I’ll be stuck with a lemon. Someone at Hessert Chevrolet and GM needs to take action and get me into a fully functional vehicle cause that’s what I’m paying for. I did not buy a used vehicle, I bought a brand new vehicle, and I’m entitled...
