So I would like to just share this story with the world so that maybe the good deed that the great people at Spanish Island did for me tonight won't go unnoticed and maybe it will cause them to have a few more customers than they normally would because it is rare to find the type of kindness or any type of kindness for that matter in business establishments these days when it comes to not having money. So basically I've been wanting to get myself some stewed beef white rice and some beans for quite some time now and I will be leaving the area for about 3 months at the end of the week so I made sure I made it over to Spanish Island to get myself what I want it now mind you it's a very rainy day today and I've been up all night packing so I'm just very tired and exhausted well I go into Spanish Island and I let them know that I wanted to pay with a prepaid Visa gift card that I received from doing an online survey I didn't have the physical card I only had the numbers expiration date CBV etc and they told me it wouldn't be a problem well I forgot and didn't realize that I spent some money off the Visa and didn't bring any other forms of payment with me and there wasn't enough money on the Visa after me trying to figure something out for tops maybe 2 minutes The kind amazing and huge hearted female that was working the cash registered told me not to worry about it gave me the food and handed me back the money that I gave her that I pulled from out of my pockets and bag which was about four bucks maybe a little less and she said don't worry about it well I promised her that tomorrow I would bring the money for the food and rest assured I will bring that money and some extra for her but this is something that I've ran into similar situations in the past and never as an establishment done that for me so I've always had a pleasant experience with these people their food is always great it's just all around a great place to go and get something good to eat and be around warm-hearted caring...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe worse spanish restaurant Iāve ever experienced! Iām Puerto Rican, I cook spanish food, I know what good authentic spanish food should taste like. Spanish Island is definitely no where near good, quality, authentic spanish food! Iāve gone here several times over the past 2 yrs. mostly because itās closer to home but every time I eat in it get take out I regret it and remember why I try to avoid going here in the first place. They are over priced, the food isnāt even all that good or authentic. They never get my order right. I either am given someone elseās order, they miss something in my order or the quality I get sucks. Iāve gotten charged for someone elseās order before and the person who could cancel the payment and fix the error wasnāt ever present to fix the issue so I was there forever waiting. And the chick who jacked up had the nerve to give me attitude... Iāve gotten cold food, food that taste and looks as if itās been sitting out a while, no good flavor... Itās horrible! And when they do jack up my order they give you an attitude about having to fix it. Donāt waste your time and money! Drive to the hood to Freddy and Tonyās. There you get awesome authentic spanish food, great prices, great quality and better customer service.
I went there yesterday for what was suppose to be āchickenā noodle soup. I paid for a large at that, and when I get home I had a big container of salty broth with very little potatoes, carrots, etc. There was no chicken in my soup at all. I was over charged for salty chicken broth. Iāve learned my lesson more than once....

They had about 10 staff members behind the counter but only one was serving the food and taking orders which by the way she was extremely patient, respectful, and considerate. My brother sent his food back untouched and just got the Guacamole which became another untouched food it was literally just avocado smashed up with chips, the steak had no favor and was chewy. Fired pork skins was NOT what you will expected, the chicken that come with the mofongo was just cut up drum sticks and was over cook and dry. The manager had an attitude never did she greet or welcome us, NOT once did she come to our table to apologize for the food, at the very end all she said was I took a $2 drink off your bill just for the inconvenience! Our bill was about $100 that she brought down to $98.. ridiculous! I took it upon myself to take the bill and go to the counter and speak with her, she got more on edge then what she was but I refused to pay for food that was took back or left on the table she then said "ALL I CAN DO" is take off 1 mofongo platter because they are expensive and I told her to take off the guacamole because its untouched on the table so my bill drop to $63, we took no doggie bags home EVERYTHING WAS LEFT! And they also TAKE an additional 15% for TIP without your consent. She still didnt give no apologies or anything until I confronted her. I honestly will NOT be attending here again it was literally my first...
