I believe it's a decent hospital with good providers. However they need to do a better a job triaging in the ER. There were a few who came in after me and went in ahead of me. Sorry, but when I see people laughing and talking on cell phones as they're walked back to see a doctor; I don't know what they told the triage nurse, but they're apparently not in any distress. While I was barely able to sit up and my blood pressure was getting dangerously high. I waited over 5 hrs to be seen last Thursday. and was in extreme discomfort. Had emergency surgery there 12 yrs for what turned out to be a small bowel obstruction and was feeling similar symptoms and made that clear to staff. As I said, others who were laughing and chatting on their cell phones and clearly were not in any distress where taken back first. When I finally got back there, I was given three x-rays and was told they could see anything wrong. I am an RN and when this happened 12 yrs ago, I was more thoroughly evaluated and finally after viewing a cat scan/fluoroscope with contrast, they were able to see that there was some kind of blockage. A very wise doctor who is no longer there, said he didn't like what he saw and that I had to be put on the operating table. Turned out I had an adhesion that had tightened to the point it strangled 6 inches of tissue that had to be removed and then the two ends were reattached. The tissue was turning gangrenous and the doctor told me had they not operated when they did, sepsis could have set in and I may not have made it. As I told the physician, once you have stomach surgery, your chances for another adhesion are increased. I even brought a copy of my surgery report which no one seemed interested in looking at. I was sent home with the same symptoms and with no treatment. Why the hell would I have gone to the ER if I wasn't feeling so bad. Symptoms are caused by something and I went to the hospital because I knew they would have the equipment to find it. I guess I'll ave to go to another hospital and hope my insurance...
Read moreI was referred to Jeanne’s Hospital for a echo cardiogram and a stress test. I went because I was scheduled for surgery at Fox Chase and they were able to get me into Jeanne’s very quickly. I had my echo on Friday, the technician took a personal call while I was on the table in a state of undress. Then while my test was being performed another person walked into the room, door wide open, and I was half naked. This person stayed in the room, had nothing to do with my testing. I had to get dressed in front of two strangers. This might not bother other people, but I am modest by nature and I found this very disconcerting. Against my better judgement, I kept my appointment on Monday for the stress test. I wanted to get it over. I was scheduled for surgery on Tuesday. I registered, they did not have a script. The woman had to hunt it down. She was a nice person, not sure why she works here. It took twenty minutes to register. She escorted me to radiology. My first impression when I walked in, was that I had been transported to an old 1950’s horror movie, you know, the kind of place that you check in and never check out? Wall to wall people. Only two seats left in the room, the very rude woman who checked me in told me “there is going to be a wait”. I asked her how long, she didn’t know. There were people in that waiting room that were there for three hours. This is with an appointment. I waited an hour and at that point I didn’t care if I had to reschedule the surgery, I just knew I couldn’t trust this nightmare hospital with my care. I called my cardiologist, saw her that day, did not wait and was scheduled for a stress test this week. I had to cancel surgery, but I know I am in good hands. I would suggest that if you have a choice, run do not walk, away from Jeanne’s Hospital. One final thing and this is directed to Jeanne’s Hospital, do not give me your moronic, repetitive response, you do not even have enough professionalism to respond individually to...
Read moreI recently came here for an emergency surgery. While I was in the ER, I had the most amazing nurse. I wish I could remember her name now, but she was incredible. She was really empathetic of what I was going through. The doctor I had in the ER was also just so nice and kind and made sure I knew the next step and what was wrong and so on. When I was brought up to the second floor, before surgery, I had a nurse NANCY and an aide JUDY who were both also so incredible. They really helped me prepare for my surgery emotionally. They were there the whole time if I needed them. After surgery, at shift change, I had a nurse LISA and an aide SCOTT who were just as amazing. I was so nervous of who I would get at night, because this is when it is the hardest being at a hospital. THEY WERE AMAZING. Absolutely amazing. I hope they see this review one day because if it was not for them, I don't know what I would have done. LISA and SCOTT made my stay overnight as calm as they possibly could. They made sure not only if I was comfortable but if my visitor was also. In the morning, I had a nurse LU and an aide ED, who helped me prepare to be discharged. They made sure I had a great discharge and that I had no questions. They made sure I had everything I needed before I left. The doctor I had, DR. BELL, is absolutely phenomenal also. He made sure I knew everything to know before going into surgery. To the NURSES, ANESTHESIOLOGISTS who were also incredible and I just cant remember the names now, the one I had was so empathetic and made sure I was smiling before I went into surgery and that I wasn't too scared. He also checked on me in the morning, THE SURGEONS AND EVERYONE IN BETWEEN, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my stay incredible. I hope everyone has the type of stay I had. I hope you all see this review one day, because you made my day and I hope to make yours. I hope one day you all see this....
