I have been a customer of Maureen’s for many years and continued to patronize the shop even after moving out of state but my last experience will prevent me from returning. I ordered flowers for my daughter’s graduation to be delivered prior to her ceremony. I chose an arrangement that included a blue vase to match her university colors. The arrangement was called Beautiful in Blue and included various white flowers in a blue vase. We asked for a yellow ribbon to complete the look. When they were delivered, the vase was clear. There was no blue. I contacted Maureen’s Flowers immediately to politely inquire about the mixup. The first individual I spoke to was professional and calm and began to offer a solution using a blue pitcher they had in stock. She put me on hold and another woman picked up the line. The woman was extremely curt and rude. She notified us that the vase was not in stock and hasn’t been for weeks. I inquired why I didn’t receive a call about this- I would have chosen a different arrangement. She rudely asked what I wanted. I said I wasn’t looking for a refund but asked if there was some kind of solution so my daughter’s flowers would display the school colors. She snapped, “I’ll go over there right now and pick up those flowers and give you your money back!” I calmly responded that was not an appropriate solution. She continued to shout at me despite my even tone. At that point I ended the conversation. There was no apology and no true solution. The unprofessional and aggressive mannerism of the woman was uncalled for and the lack of initial communication regarding not having the vase I ordered was disappointing.
